Rubicon

Wildernessking was established in May 2011 as a forward-thinking metal band. Starting out as a fun, black 'n roll project called Heathens in early 2010, the band morphed into a progressive force, encompassing many genres and styles on the way. Releasing their debut full-length album on Antithetic Records in February 2012, followed by a self-released EP in June 2012 and a couple of music videos, Wildernessking took the underground music scene by storm and to critical acclaim. Wildernessking did their first local tour in July 2013, playing in Johannesburg and Pretoria and they are the only African band featured on the Elemental Nightmares vinyl project, consisting of 28 bands and 7 10" split albums to be released over the course of 2014. Wildernessking digitally released The Devil Within in January 2014, with the physical release slated for March 2014 in all formats (CD, cassette, vinyl). Now playing a hybrid of black metal, rock and ambient music, the group is set to release a slew of new recordings in 2014. The band will also release a collaborative split album with The Great Old Ones (FRA) and a new full-length in 2014.
