Hey friends,

I just moved on from 2 months in Bir - the village that flies, in Himachal Pradesh, India. 

I went there to think about what I want to do next, following the launch of my debut album “Moments of Clarity.”

But it turned out to be one of those magical dreamlands where you don’t think - you just do. 

On my third day there I jumped off a cliff, only to have my crippling fear of heights melt into the ecstasy of paragliding through the Himalayas. 

This fearlessness continued, and I soon found myself stepping behind the decks to guide a conscious & present crowd through ecstatic dance.

This set, Mast Pahadi, is inspired by that experience. In Hindi, Pahadi means mountain person. And mast means great. I had a vision of a genderless spirit - living in harmony with the mountains. 

When I shared the name with my friend Nirjhar - he reminded me that Mast is also someone stuck in a state of trance….of ecstasy.

So kick off your shoes, and turn up the volume - as I guide you through an audio journey which mirrors the peace I felt in Bir, the pulse beneath my feet, and a glimpse - into the ecstatic.

This is Mast Pahadi.

Mast Pahadi (Ecstatic Dance DJ set from Bir, India)

Here's something a bit different that i've been working on for the past couple of years. At some point the mix kind of seemed like one of those things that i wouldnt stop changing, based solely on the fact that i'm always waiting for new music and ways to improve the mix. This however was turning out to be an endless cycle. Yesterday i decided to finish it just as it is. Hopefully it made the right call :)

Strawberry Fields 2019

It has been a while for me releasing a mixtape. Because many of you asking for this i finally took some time and compiled the 19CAST.

This mixtape is all about which have been my favorite pieces of music i liked to play out in 2019. So in some way it is kind of a reminiscence of the last year and some bits and bites i repeatedly played to people who came to see me perform. As usual i did a lot of editing and also changed and recombined songs over and over to find the right balance of this mixtape as you might listen to it many times. 

This time i leave it to you which fantasy or story you might visualize whilst listening. Im happy to hear some of those and hope you enjoy the mix.

Well-versed duo The Journey gravitate in the melodic techno and progressive house pool, opening things up on musically atmospheric note all while synthesising influences around them. 

Embracing electronic music’s poignant zest, they are delivering studio output supported by pioneers and humble music enthusiasts equally. Built to keep dance-floor hearts full, the Melbourne based producer, DJ and label pair have knelt to electronic devotees on one knee, warming up stages at the iconic Rainbow Serpent Festival, Pitch Music & Arts to Subsonic and Strawberry Fields Festival, while having cemented a solid debut tour in 2018 throughout Europe lined with an envious 8 hour long set at Berlin’s Sisyphos.  

Delivering ammunition for the club and a bunch of cosy-and-warm synths for the afterparty, with labels like Einmusika and Open Records Jacob and Tom have also collaborated with fellow Australian underground peer Pantheon with ‘The Conqueror’ on Dear Deer Records . 

Recent remix roles for singer-songwriter Running Touch on ‘My Hands’ acquired a well-deserved spot on Ministry of Sound ’s Annual 2019, amid remixing for ‘Treaty’ by Yothu Yindi attracting prodigious recognition resulting in The Journey being nominated for Music Victoria & The Age ’s Electronic Artist of The Year. 

As curators of Ugenius Music, the duo pass on their emotive production qualities, signing some of the most impressive local and offshore producers in their sphere.  

At the end of 2019 the boys released their huge singe Chasing featuring Australian vocalist Stace Cadet which has celebrated massive chart success both internationally and nationally. They followed up with two singles on Oliver Koletzki’s imprint “Stil Vor Talent” and Nil’s Hoffman’s “Poesie Musik” respectively which gained an abundance of international support. 

The road ahead derives inspiration from the last year’s vibrant success - musically on some of the world’ most celebrated record labels, amidst stacking shows across the Australian summer and straight to Europe where the pair’s second tour of the region is imminent. Anden presents Sound Room 038 (July 2020) - Live from Club Quarantine

When we got the call up to mix a 333 sessions podcast, we were stoked!!  Since the beginning of the flow music series, it has been a go to for finding some winning mixes to get us through the Covid crisis in Victoria. Whilst it’s been a tough battle here it has allowed us to work on lots of music. Starting slow and to gradually build the podcast was always going to be how we approached it. We have always considered our style to be eclectic whilst still maintaining continuity with our flow.

The Wildwood Podcast series is a Melbourne based electronic music channel.
