This song originally started off as a flip of “Deep End” by Birdy and was one of the first 115 bpm tracks that I ever experimented with. When I decided that I wanted this song to be “Greed”,  I began incorporating sounds like paper money being shuffled, coins/change, and other metallic fx to give it a bankroll feel. While writing and recording the lyrics, I was going for a very humble monotone approach to show the respect and diligence you must have with money and wealth versus the typical tone that is carried through other songs relating to this topic. This is one song on the album that takes a bit more of a dancier turn in the second half but it naturally ended up fitting the exact vibe that I wanted to express for “Greed”.

I think the celebration of life is something that’s often overlooked. Once a loved one is gone it’s easy to get caught up in the fact that they aren’t here anymore instead of knowing that they lived a beautiful life. I wanted to emote the feelings one would get while focusing on the celebration of someone’s life. Through the chord progressions to the subtle children laughs reminiscing through childhood and all the beautiful things life has to offer.
