Back On A Cloud

This album is a follow-up album to my "What's Gonna Become of Us" by Wilfred Kozub project that I did in 2015. That one was an instrumental album, and it remains one of my very favourite works that I created. It is the only album of mine that I listen to regularly.

I wanted to do another instrumental album in the same vein. But a few new songs with lyrics came to me magically and mysteriously. I wasn't expecting that, but I liked them so much that I decided to change my plans and create a balance of those new vocal songs, some new instrumental tracks, and a couple others that I never really found a home for – until I finally decided to make them part of "The Last Vibrations of Summer".

I like this new album very much. As an album, it hangs together very smoothly. It is very satisfying for me, and I hope it will be for you, too.

A song 45 years in its making. A newly arrived teenager from across the  water was cajoled into 'writing songs', and being the ever-easygoing chap he (still) is - he proffered this. Little did he know it would come back to Colorado to remind him of a youth in Kalamunda. Thanks for the shared experience, RGS - especially the education in music. Here's to your 21,885th day, have a happy one.

Picking up shadows from last century. This one is forty years old this year. The recording, however, isn't. Misato Okuyama is the voice in there that takes this a little closer to heaven.

Passenger Seat

A winsomg written in a King's Cross hotel room overlooking Sydney Harbour. Taken back to Perth and placed in the caring hands and additional backing vocal from Mark Fisher, and producer Russell Bell's finesse. Elizabeth Segal was there to add harmony and waltz around the control room. A little later, Rob Ellis added bass to give the song some ball, thus making it more of a ballad. Strings and keys arranged and played by the composer.

For little Luna. "Everyone there will know me well, and those who don't can go ..." Featuring the mellow backing tones of Al Parvez and Kerry Stevens. A bitterly emancipated Rob Ellis pleads from the bridge.

This was quite a different project for us (Everything's a different project for us these days!! Who cares? . . . WE DO!!!) . . . a bit more of an experimental adventure, for sure. Ok. Here is some info about me, Wilfred. Music is a big thing in my life . . . I’ve been tuning into radio since I was a little kid (on a crystal set – rocket radio!) and I grew up with access to a large record collection (vinyl and, later . . . everything else that followed).  I was lucky to be a teen during a very musically fertile time – when the Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and tonnes of other greats were creating fresh music for my fresh ears. To this day, I like it when an artist has his own sound but doesn't sound 'all the same' , , , and this is what I try to do.  Most of my own music is written for records by my group, Wilfred N & the Grown Men. I also love making experimental music.
