Joe Overend is a freelance bass guitar session musician, specialising in recording, backing bands, tours and tv/radio performance.

 Having played piano since 5 years old, Joe first picked up the bass guitar at 14 and no time in settling down on the instrument.
Since then Joe has become an able, confident and unique player, a very capable sight reader and backing vocalist, with the ability to play in almost every style e.g. blues, funk, rock, R'n'B, folk, classical, Motown and heavy metal many more.

Drawing influence from bass players like James Jamerson (motown session bassist), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Nathan Watts (Stevie Wonder) and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Joe's playing is bold and refreshing, creating interesting lines and an individual sound that suits any music.

Currently based in Guildford, UK, Joe is supporting singer/songwriter Hannah Dorman (www.hannahdorman.com) as well as playing with numerous other groups. He is also playing on several recordings in the studio and teaching bass guitar.
