Terms Of Endearment Improv

The Sound of Silence Improv  - Inspired by an article that I recently came across discussing the background of this song by Simon & Garfunkel.  According to the article, Art's college roommate's vision failed suddenly after going through surgery for misdiagnosed glaucoma.  The article described how Art and his roommate were in a very busy area and Art decided to disappear - not really disappear, he just made himself unavailable leaving his friend to cope with his new surroundings by himself.  His unsuspecting friend just figured they lost each other in the crowd but Art was always right there - ready to help his friend if he ever needed it.

Having been through 4 invasive eye surgeries myself, the article really resonated with me. It was that article that inspired me to try to capture what it must feel like to be blind and having to all of a sudden deal with a very busy environment (like Grand Central Station) all on my own with no help.  Fear, spaciousness, echoing foot steps, voices, doors slamming, thunderous train vibrations above, people scurrying about as I apologize for bumping in to many of them.  Finally coming to the realization that my friend was with me all the time :-).  Talk about learning under fire!  I hope you enjoy this (my) version of the song.
