Paranoid (Not Anymore)

In the Winter of 2023, singer songwriter Andrew Michelin of The All Canadian Soundclash was approached by Nashville record producer Dean Miller (Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson) son of legendary singer songwriter Roger Miller after hearing The All Canadian Soundclash’s 2021 Album “Better late than never”. Dean expressed great interest in Andrew’s song writing ability and invited him down to Nashville, Tennessee to record a record. In the summer of 2024 he found himself in Nashville’s music row recording at the legendary and historic studio called Sound Emporium founded by Jack Clement, where countless notable musicians have also recorded such as Taylor Swift, Jelly Roll, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and R.E.M. 
Andrew Michelin, the musician behind The All Canadian Soundclash from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, showcases original indie folk and alternative
rock through his projects. His approach emphasizes quality songwriting and live performance, rooted in a “less is more” philosophy. This approach,
reminiscent of The Beatles’ melodic traditions, aims to create accessible, radio-friendly music. Michelin prioritizes structured compositions and
catchy pop hooks, recognizing their significance in crafting engaging songs. This commitment to both craftsmanship and accessibility underscores 
his music’s appeal, resonating with listeners who appreciate well-crafted melodies and memorable performances.
What was produced and recorded at Sound Emporium turned into The All Canadian Soundclash’s third release. A four song E.P. entitled “Nashville” with the song “Tired” being the first single off the record. “Tired” is a deeply personal and emotional song for Andrew, reflecting a tragic event in his life. The combination of a haunting piano intro and Andrew’s melancholic vocals suggests a poignant and introspective atmosphere. The theme of loss and grief due to a drunk driving incident adds a layer of emotional depth to the song, making it a powerful tribute to his friend. The transition from the lonely piano to a full folk rock band performance likely intensifies the emotional impact, creating a memorable listening experience for the audience.

Synesthesia is main motif for this song, first because of original lyrics, then as I felt like adding it more flavor with female vocals*, & finally when I recently watched some paintings about this matter**.

I wrote this song in 2017 and recorded it on my third studio album 'Durban Girl'.  I was fortunate enough to record this album in Nashville with my wonderful producer friend Fred Molin. (Billy Joel, barbara Streisand etc). It speaks to those who have lost someone in their lives.  I like to believe that our loved ones stay with us or at come to visit to give us strength as we live our lives.  It's as if in our darkest moments, they are there saying "I have faith in you".
