I wrote this about a gig at Hyde Park, Arcade Fire as it happens! Strange because i was feeling totally isolated and depressed where as i'd felt a million bucks at the last Arcade Fire show, perhaps they opened with Wake up? 
But yes it's about being lost and feeling crap in London with 1,000's of people around you. Also it must be said a anti love song and a positive love song as well.....It's about the same girl from The wild things.....oh joy!

The cover will be part of a split 7" released for Record Store Day and limited to 500 copies. On the reverse, R Stevie Moore covers The Vaccines "Post Break-Up Sex". The release is one of three on Record Store Day on Tim Burgess' O Genesis Recordings label.

STAGECOACH ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE AND RECORD SHOP TOUR

Stagecoach return with the first single from their long awaited debut album produced by Rory Attwell (Palma Violets, The Vaccines, Veronica Falls) Work Work Work is a feel good slice of nostalgia filled college rock that transports you back to a time when The Lemonheads and Fountains of Wayne scored top ten’s with ease. This first taste of the May album release showcases a more mature sound that has seen the likes of Huw Stephens, NME and The Fly pledging their allegiances.

The single will be released as a limited edition A3 art print via Alcopop! Records on March 25th and features an exclusive b-side recorded at The Lightship during the summer’s album sessions. In support of the release the band will be playing a unique tour of some of their favorite UK independent record stores.

All fresh as fuck and brandishing the ‘sort of shout along indie-infused pop’ that the Japandroids would probably dig (we don’t know, we’ve not asked them) Doctrines are Alcopop! Record’s very punkest kids… Here with a free to download single, ‘Daydream’ taking from the forthcoming album. 

Hailing from Manchester, the dynamic 4 piece (Jamie, Robert, Luke and Kyle) have been together just over a year and a half, releasing a debut EP last Summer on a mad sci-fi kick inspired by Raymond Kurzeil to much acclaim, Rocksound suggested “You wouldn’t want to bet against them making some serious waves”. Their debut album, released on Alcopop! on purple vinyl so “it looks like Prince” 

Despite sounding something like an unholy union between At the Drive in and Titus Andronicus with the kind of guttural vocals that would take tiles off rooves, they’ve shed the concept storylines and concentrated on making a fucking great pop record. Well, as pop as these guys get… Jamie takes up the story about the new album

“This time we really just wanted to make a good album.  With ZE it was easy to be distracted by the sci-fi escapism and grand arrangements. ANX sheds a lot of extraneous fluff (there’s still some. couldn't let go that easily) and just wears its heart on its sleeve. It's about feeling disappointed, powerless, alienated and anxious while still hoping to make sense of an absurd situation. Where ZE looked to the future for answers, ANX is firmly rooted in the here and now.”
