Very full lower register. Which flute is this?

very full tone on the low C.....with the exaggerated vibrato

I always picture you as having sudden bursts of inspiration, yet the whole thing speaks of peace too. It's nice. You must live in a very quiet area (or you have a soundproof room). What a sound!

The Japanese system for counting higher numbers is based on the decimal progression grouping into sets of 4 zeros: 10,000 (万), 100,000,000 (億), etc, rather than 3. I was always fascinated why, particularly because in Japan 4 is not a popular number due to its "on" reading... This song will not delve into further exploration of this topic but the influence is apparent in the title - ichiokukai.

Hundred Million Times (一億回)

.... my love of the flute, (and my addiction to playing one), has consumed most of my life..

In the early '80's,  my focus widened from playing and performing, into modifying and eventually creating my own instruments, which are based upon my playing style..

The "Duet/FluteJazz" album was recorded live, (in two different clubs) in Boston and Cambridge, MA (circa 1986). The flute I am playing on is Williams flute #1, the first of about 200 I have made. 

The flute effects are controlled via ten foot pedals during the performance. It was pretty radical at the time, but I think the music still works..

Soundcloud (and the denizens thereof) is my first destination each morning and my last stop every night...
