The self-proclaimed Verbal Mechanic, Nairobi based rapper Kyraz  was  able to transcend his local sensation status and become a national rap contender using  social conscious inspired hip-hop as the vehicle for his lyricism and clever wordplay. Mataro Chacha  was born in Nairobi on February 29th . Moving to Kampala Uganda at age fifteen, however, Kyraz was mostly raised in suburban Nairobi. He attended  Augustana College and University of Eastern Africa Baraton graduating with a bachelor’s degree. 
Kyraz  got his first airplay circa 2003-2004 with "Wika," thanks to the help of  Boomba rap legend E-Sir Mmari who believed in his potential. In 2006 Kyraz  signed to his own  local start-up imprint Lounge Entertainment and has been managing himself ever since.He released a pre album Boymistari in 2010,and began work on his album Hisia zangu afterwards.
