CARLOS FARIAS, cantor, compositor e produtor cultural nascido em Machacalís – MG, focaliza o seu trabalho na preservação e divulgação da cultura popular dos Vales do Jequitinhonha, Mucuri e Norte de Minas.  Dentre as suas ações, destaca-se a criação do Coral das Lavadeiras de Almenara, com o qual vem alcançando reconhecimento nacional e internacional. O Ministério da Cultura conferiu ao grupo a Medalha da Ordem do Mérito Cultural 2010, por relevantes serviços prestados ao país. Psicólogo, realiza shows, oficinas e palestras musicadas sobre cultura popular, elaboração e gestão de projetos culturais, empreendedorismo, relações humanas, saúde e cidadania, dentre outros temas.

•	 "Carlos Farias" (1994): reúne canções próprias e temas adaptados da cultura popular do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri.
•	 "Tupinikim" (2000) também com canções autorais e da cultura popular.
•	"Batukim Brasileiro - O Canto das Lavadeiras" (2002):CD-Livro contendo textos bilíngüese canções recolhidas e adaptadas por Carlos Farias
         sintetizando vários anos de pesquisas etnomusicais nos Vales do Jequitinhonha e do Mucuri. 
•	"AQUA – a música das Lavadeiras do Jequitinhonha" (2005): dá continuidade ao importante trabalho iniciado em "Batukim Brasileiro", resgatando antigas cançõesguardadas
         na memória das lavadeiras, canoeiros e ribeirinhos. Trata-se de uma obra etnográfica, mesclando influências africanas, indígenas e portuguesas.
•	“Carlos Farias – coletânea” (2009): reúne 20 canções representativas da sua obra.

This is the case of the singer, songwriter and guitarist Wilson Dias, miner Olhos D'Água, Vale do Jequitinhonha special place because it is the starting point of a successful career.

It was this small barn that Wilson Dias inherited cultural and art brought to the beneficial influences of community life, culture and folk art, in its manifestations both religious and profane. Enriched by the crib where he was born, the artist grew open to life and freedom to experiment and further enrich themselves culturally, with all the influences and experiences derived from folklore and seresta mining.

Thanks to their dedication, their commitment and their professionalism Wilson Dias had conditions for more than fifteen years living exclusively from his musical work. It is no coincidence that two of his two sons, Wallace Gomes (guitar) and Pedro Gomes (bass), are following the strength of his charisma and his example, sharing with him the challenges and joys of the stage in almost all its presentations. Aesthetically, beyond the diversity of rhythms of Brazilian Popular Music, the artist has been directing your career to the encounter between tradition and urban with a special bias for Brazilian popular culture.

All the strength of this talent miner, the richness of his musical art are well represented in their albums, recorded over fifteen years of work and a lot of road. Them are present their worldview, their respect for nature, its ethical values and its commitment sociocultural, which Wilson Dias, always consistent with what he thinks and sings, does not give up.
