The name "Stone Village" originated from one such legend, which tells of how once there was a rich village in the woods. One day an old man in poor clothes passed by him and asked for bread from the owner of a rich yard. He waved at him: "Go to yourself, man, never to me." The old man, who turned out to be God himself, who came down to earth, came out of the village, looked around and the village was immediately petrified. On one of the stones where he rested, there was a huge footprint.
