To participate in the Haiku Music challenge::

- Make a song in response to the weekly assigned poem (a new poem is published every Wednesday)
- When choosing a title for your piece also include the assignment number, for example “Title of your track (naviarhaiku382)”

To submit your track:

- If you’re a Soundcloud user, upload it on Soundcloud and send me the URL via private message, or tag me in the track.
- If you upload your music on Youtube, Bandcamp or anywhere else, upload your submission and then send me the link by email at marco@naviarrecords.com or contact me on X, Facebook or Instagram
- If you don’t use any music platform, upload it to this Dropbox folder and I’ll include it in the weekly playlist. If you choose this option, make sure you include your name in the track’s title. www.dropbox.com/request/JvKyUfuCSzJ3gRNRocZz

Washing Up The Mountain ( Naviarhaiku 570 )

This piece is an attempt to work to two briefs simultaneously, so halF colourlesS is both a haiku interpretation and an arc of drone ... Enjoy! ☺️ I think there could/should be a longer version to really get into the dronosity ... As for a few recent tracks, this makes heavy use of the wonderful Sumu synth from Madrona Labs ...

Washing the mountain_Naviarhaiku570

This time around I used no quantization or tempo syncing whatsoever and just used Logic as a glorified tape recorder, recording multiple takes from a Korg microX. Hopefully it comes across more organic than sloppy :-).

The bass/base of the mountain grows the closer you get to it. The drums represent the relentless steps of the determined climber as they continue to ascend despite the colourless rains of autumn... 

It's my first attempt participating in Naviar-Records Haiku challenge.

windspace began exploring electronic music in 1982 using analog synthesizers and in recent years has gravitated to ambient music. windspace today mostly uses computers to produce his music, but occasionally some ancient hardware sees the light of day. He also releases more experimental and extreme music under the name of ho66it.  He records his music now in Colorado where he resides with his greatest supporter...his wonderful wife.
