A Little While Longer: a longing for a brief moment in time. A thought back to days past and time spent with loved ones or friends. What we do with the brief moment we have in this life. What we decide is important enough to spend it on.

It’s been more than four years since Lenzman’s last project on The North Quarter. During his absence the label has hardly struggled, continuing to demonstrate its relevance with a roster of diverse and exciting international artists. This has set the stage for his welcome and long awaited return home with ‘A Little While Longer’.

Written over a space of three months, it tackles the emotions and challenges of a total change of rhythm and routine, frustrated confinement and overcoming a void in inspiration. In the end it was once again his close family that inspired his creativity and process.

This body of work was brought together by the use of old recordings and found sound, sampling bespoke piano pieces and through collaboration, as well as forever finding his inner thoughts and feelings as his primary guide. This brief moment in time might feel more like an interlude, but it's an extended one that shows off Lenzman's signature brand of Hip Hop influenced Drum & Bass music.

Reveal was the second single from the final Foreign beggars Album ‘Matriarchy’ & features UK Soul singer Laville. A smooth rolling reprise by Beggars long time collaborator and close friend Alix is the first in a series of Foreign Beggars Remixes to be exclusively released through 4NC¥ & //DarkMode over the coming year.
 
The track was released through Bandcamp as part of the Drum & Bass for Palestine initiative by Bou & UKF in 2020 but now receives an official worldwide release through Foreign Beggars own imprint //DarkMode . 

About Foreign Beggars 
Foreign Beggars were an English hip hop and dubstep group including PAV4N, the Head Honcho for 4NC¥//DarkMode. Since their formation in 2002, the group's trajectory had seen them evolve from an underground hip hop group to an electronic crossover act. Rest In Peace to Ebow Graham aka Metropolis. 

About Alix Perez 
Alix Perez is a true artist and a trailblazer in his own right as the Don of DnB. Critically acclaimed, the accomplished artist has a slew of releases, collaborating with Machine Drum, Noisia and Foreign Beggars to name a few and performs alongside EPROM in their duo project SHADES.
 
With the launch of 1985 - his own imprint back in 2016, Perez now receives praise for one of the most tasteful audio & visual platforms in the electronic realm as he pushing the envelope with releases from artists MachineDrum, Ivy Lab, Halogenix, Skeptical, Eprom and many more with almost every release finding  its way to number 1 in the Beatport charts, and  winning ‘Best New Label’ at the Drum and Bass Arena Awards by public vote in 2017 
 
With high levels of creativity and discipline being the reason he is at the forefront of electronic music today, Perez’s focus remains in the art and the music by sticking true to his roots and vision.

Foreign Beggars Ft Laville - Reveal (Alix Perez Remix)

pyxis makes a welcome return to the fat with two cuts demonstrating her trademark ‘light and dark’ style.

‘Moonshadow’ opens with skippy breaks and lovely wonky keys that conjure the sound of an old record. Soulful vocals carry you through before a funky bass drops setting the groove. pyxis deftly weaves her magic sounds in and out of the track with a little extra added stardust along the way. Interstellar!

‘Opium’ finds pyxis in much of the same artistic space. The vocal sample speaks of being ‘here when you need somebody’ but this soundscape is not entirely happy, in fact it’s kind of sad. The mid section provides momentary catharsis before some dark synth lines bring us sharply back. The track title definitely adds depth to the narrative. Intoxicating!
