I recorded my NYE performance at a house party full of some of my closest friends. It was a wonderful night :D

I turned a few instances of weird mic interference way down, because just killing it felt odd. I also reduced the midnight countdown volume to match the rest of the waveform so it doesn't hurt to listen to, although it is still certainly clipping lol.

If it sounds a little different for the first 8 or so songs, it's because I had to re-record it after, as I forgot to press the button at the start O.o

Also, I feel pretty good about this set, but during the "Shadowban" -> "You Choose" transition, I got distracted by a redlining audio channel and was fiddling with a trim knob when I should have been mixing, so that's why the track stays in too long and gets pulled out abruptly xD

Rhizome Patchwork May 25th

This was a set I recorded on January 4th, 2025 for a friend's new years house party. I played the 11:00 pm to 12:30 am time slot. It was a lovely time, full of lots of close friends as well as plenty of cool people I had never met before. The sound setup was in his living room (and provided for by Opening Move), with speakers way too big for the space (the ideal setup). I think this set showcases my music taste, and it's evolution over the last year very well, as well as a tonne of fantastic artists including some super underrated ones. I am proud of how this came together in the end. There were no glaring mistakes, and the small ones I did make, it feels like I managed well and are hard for me to pick out unless I am listening very carefully at the exact moment they occur. All That Glitters 2025

Thierry D has been quietly involved in Eora's (Sydney AU) underground scene for more than two decades now. He started out back in the late '90s when rave culture was really taking hold, and since then, he's been focused on making bass-heavy, broken beat music that speaks for itself. Over the years, he's been fortunate enough to have played a bunch of events that mean a lot to the local community including events hosted by Afterlife, Reload Bass, SHOOK and Deep Space Events as well as Psyfari in 2014 and 2015, Defqon.1 in 2014, and Subtropics Festival in both 2022 and 2023, among others. Back in 2013, he ran a radio show on Bondi Beach Radio, which gave him a platform to share music he believed in and connect with others in the scene.

In 2012, Thierry took a step further by founding The Elements Of Tech & Bass - which has evolved into both a label and an event series. It's been a project close to his heart, aimed at supporting and growing the underground bass community in Australia. Through that, and on other labels like Jungle Cakes, Audio Overload, Jungle Records, Division Bass Digital, Dubstomp 2 Bass, and Music For Change Recordings, Thierry's been able to release music that’s honest and straightforward.

What drives him is a genuine love for the sound itself - tracks that have weight, that hit hard in the chest, and that create real moments for people.

Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, MAU is a DJ and producer with a deep love for drum and bass and the wider world of breakbeat sounds. Their sets flow between dark, experimental rhythms and lighter, more atmospheric tunes, always guided by feeling rather than formula. 

Over the past decade, they've played at festivals, clubs, and underground gatherings across New Zealand, Australia, and Canada, sharing music that connects people through bass and movement. 

Recent appearances at Dragon Dreaming in Australia and Future Forest in Canada have shown MAU’s versatility and grounded energy - equal parts heavy, fluid, and heartfelt. 

Outside of playing shows, MAU is part of Dialect Audio, working behind the scenes to support emerging artists and keep the underground thriving. Their approach is simple: stay connected, keep learning, and let the music speak for itself.

Introducing Guest Mix #150... MAU

I recently had the pleasure of DJing at a house party for a friend's birthday party. It was the 1-2am set time, last of the night. There was a Rane One MKII (that thing is sick), so myself and others played sets for the first time on said controller. There are a few moments in here where I leave an effect on, or a high pass doesn't work because you have to toggle it on (which I am not used to). I think I did a good job of improvising around mistakes when they happen, and I had a lot of fun putting this set together. My goal here was to showcase a really broad spectrum of the darker, techy side of drum and bass.

Just as well, I played my own song in the middle that I've been working on for the last 2 weeks. It somehow has turned out quite playable, despite not a tonne of effort on the mastering end of things there. I think it's just easier to master less busy arrangements without it coming out super crispy. It's an industrial hardcore / crossbreed track with big buss-distorted kick/bass stuff in it. I think it's quite fun, and fits into the set well.
