This song is about the phrase "that which doesn't kill me makes me stronger." I was waking up daily with that thought on my mind after some particularly tough times.  I said I am either already gone or I have to be the strongest woman on earth, since the universe has dished out more than its fair share my way.  Hey, at least I got a song out of it.

Skriðdreki (Crawling Dragon) is the second track from 8 by Laxá & Heima Kvartett — an Icelandic post-rock ensemble known for fusing cinematic strings, dub reggae basslines, and atmospheric guitars.

Dedicated to bassist Bjarne Guðjohnsen, Skriðdreki opens with a driving bass line crawling beneath layers of fuzzed guitar and rhythmic drums. As the density lifts, Mike Taylor’s church organ and the Heima Kvartett’s strings rise through the haze, giving the piece a sense of both menace and release.
