Purgatory

I was feeling like a singing bird when I wrote Passeri.
The track was born in a time of pointlessness and lack of inspiration for me. I was contemplating if a bird ever had writer’s block and couldn’t sing for a while? Maybe that helped me to understand that it’s completely fine to have phases like these, where there is no creative output.
It was my struggle with the imposed pressure of a society where your value is measured by productivity.  But I want to be free instead - after all, that’s why I chose to be a musician.
So I stopped pushing blocks in Ableton and went outside to clear my mind. Recording the sound of my steps, the singing birds, the ambient sounds of Berlin. This inspired me to pick up my guitar and play without much thinking.

Sitting as one of Brazilian premiere progressive house talents, receiving play and support from the genre's premiere tastemakers, with his  groovy, hipnotic and emotional music, Transensations Records proudly welcomes LUCIANO SCHEFFER for his debut EP on the label. After a stunning remix to GORKIZ & K LOVESKI - Arboreal track previously released, Luciano returns with a Masterpiece EP entitled 'SAUDADE'. The first track "Saudade", is a very special track, dedicated to Luciano's father, presents his sound signature, a perfect match between his progressive minded groove and layers of driving percussion, plus a warm and breezy overlays filled with emotion, creating a track to delight dance floors. 

Second track "Boreal" follows suit and is well in line with the previous track, with a hipnotic groove and melody, tight and rhythmic in all the right ways; wavy arps set the course for aural enlightenment. The release concludes with an "Intro" version of Boreal, a gift for DJ's, from this highly talented artist who continues to be one of Brazilian's most renowned progressive house producers.

Our first release of 2022 comes from a producer who’s no stranger to the TGP family. Rising star Yoko returns to the label for her three-track EP “Where The Ferns Are” on Friday, January 14th. This release takes a different approach to what fans usually take in, opting for a downtempo adventure filled with emotions.

Yoko begins the EP with her title track, “Where The Ferns Are”. A gorgeous entrance takes you into the forest that provides an ambient feel. The smooth sound of jazz can be heard throughout as this journey through sound unfolds. The next track, “Weeping Willow”, takes a different approach, bringing more of a familiar crunchy bass sound while still leaving plenty of room for the track to breathe with a somber mood and environment, accompanied by a slow, chilling percussion. The mood is captured in an incredible way as you continue this journey. The final track, “Dreams of Wisteria”, is Yoko’s most emotional track yet. Going off the deep end once again, this story ends as the sun goes down. Overall, this EP shines as Yoko combines her unique style of music with an epic of storytelling proportions.

I’m a massive space nerd. I love everything to do with space, the universe, astrobiology and abiogenesis (the origins of life). Something I’ve always found fascinating is how unlikely it is that we are able to exist here at all. So many millions of things had to go right in order for us to be here.. so many tiny details all aligning so that we can live our day to day lives. One of those details is the earth’s atmosphere, the thin blue line, the only thing that separates us from infinite nothingness. I wanted to end the album on a high note, a reminder that it’s not all doom and gloom, that the fact that we’re here at all and able to listen to music is completely ridiculous. And also that this entire situation is incredible fragile and rare. We need to protect it.
