NPO RADIO 2 DEBUT NEW REELWORLD SOUND

The biggest radio station in the Netherlands, NPO Radio 2, is heading into spring with a brand new on air sound from ReelWorld.

The custom jingle package features 17 newly composed themes as well as news and utility elements.

Head of Imaging at NPO Radio 2, Guido Sprenger, said: "For Radio 2 we were looking for different imaging that really connected with the music that we're playing and the diversity of sounds and voices that define our station. ReelWorld surprised us with jingles ranging from Motown to Grunge, from sounds like The Weeknd to Fleetwood Mac. Together we constructed a sound that is unique and extremely recognisable."

The creative also includes a series of innovative ‘mash up’ mixes that combine Radio 2’s diverse playlist within jingles and talk over beds.

ReelWorld Managing Director Anthony Gay said: “NPO Radio 2 is a prestigious European radio brand with a clear vision. To support Guido, Basyl and the team with their objectives has been a huge honour. This package really kick starts our 2021 and there’s a lot more to come!”

The new sound is part of a long term partnership between NPO Radio 2 and ReelWorld which will see them create further updates across the coming years.

The MediaCityUK based production company with its roots in Seattle, USA, continues to develop the new sound for BBC Local Radio in the UK as well as RTE 2fm in Ireland and enjoys successful partnerships with Europe’s biggest broadcasters.

NPO Radio 2 joins the long list of European broadcasters using ReelWorld jingles and imaging that already includes Heart UK, NRK P1 Norway, BBC Radio 1, Los 40 Spain, and RTL Berlin.

Danish public broadcaster's current music station, P3, has revamped its morning show. They came to us for a catchy and recognisable show theme, delivered as an extensive set of audio branding assets.

Jacob Løje is P3's editor for imaging, flow and engineering: "Our previous morning show imaging package had been on air for over four years. During that time, two out of the program's three hosts had been replaced. We needed a fresh new sound that could match the energy of the new team."

Imaging Blueprint - Highlights - August 2023

The regional broadcaster for North Holland, NH, has a new brand sound to add luster to their updated programming.

A clear desire from NH was a friendly, soft and calm approach that appeals to the older target group. That sound and feel can be heard in the jingles, but also in the news package. Central to the jingle package is NH's slogan, 'Thuis in heel Noord-Holland' ('At home in all of North Holland').

In addition to imaging for news, weather, traffic and sports, IDs and jingles were created. From a top of the hour and bottom of the hour to many jingles for between the music. Covering various genres and suitable for transitions, such as from slow to fast tempo.

So-called breakbusters have also been made as a part of this package. Designed to hold the listener's attention during commercial breaks, allowing the station voice to 'tease' content coming up after the break. NH's audio design package has been further expanded with Christmas versions of the jingles - produced in the summer!

In 2023, Europe 2 (formerly known as Virgin Radio France) launched a brand-new pop-rock Wisebuddah sound. One of the most listened to radio stations in France; they asked the Wisebuddah team to create an eclectic mix of themes to complement their 90s, 00s and 10s playlist.

As part of BBC Radio 2's big schedule changes, Wisebuddah are proud to present the jingles they were asked to write for the new shows. 

Jo Whiley and Simon Mayo's new extended Drivetime show features a new show theme and remix of All Request Friday. 

Sara Cox's move to weekday evenings sees a new theme for her show, as does Cerys Matthews who takes the seat for the Monday night blues show. 

Good Morning Sunday also received a new theme for its new hosts Kate Botley and Jason Mohammad earlier in the year.
