Based out of Sydney, Australia, Gypsies & Gentlemen are a 5 piece rock band whose music is described as having "alternative, dynamic rhythms with edgy melodies and arena rock sounds" - qualities synonymous with their musical influences which include Tame Impala, Kings of Leon, Explosions in the Sky and City and Colour. 

The boys have been playing together since 2010, but have held friendships and a mutual love of music for more than 10 years. G&G have performed all over Australia and have been steadily building their fan base both locally and internationally, selling out nights at some of Sydney’s most iconic venues including The Basement, Manning Bar and Oxford Art Factory. The AU Review describes them as:

“...a solid rock and roll band who were reminiscent of Birds of Tokyo - the sort of high energy, almost anthemic rock, laden with catchy riffs that you would unashamedly tell all your friends you listen to.”

After wrapping up their 2013 self-titled EP featuring the single "Anger's Got a Hold," Gypsies & Gentlemen continue to build their following, now 5,000 fans strong on Facebook, with over 50,000 cumulative views on YouTube. More recently, the boys took home the national 'Musicians of the Year' award at Australia’s 2015 RAWARDS.

The band is currently in the studio with ARIA award winning producer Tim Carr (Ernest Ellis, Matt Corby, The Upskirts) working on their sophomore release. Their brand new single 'Blood Is Sweeter' is due out May 19th 2015.

Live they are gritty, loud, edgy and dangerous. They always deliver a fistful of rock 'n’ roll, as they now demonstrate on their sizzling new self titled album.

The Australian rock audience demands honesty, energy, and the ability to deliver the goods live in their rock 'n’ roll bands. That is a tradition dating back to the likes of AC/DC (a clear reference point for The Lazys), through to The Saints, Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel and Silverchair.

Those traits are also valued by Canadian rock fans, so it is no surprise that they're taking to The Lazys faster than a great white shark to an Aussie surfer. Back in May, The Lazys hit these shores for the first time, on a tour that sparked a mutual love affair between the band and Canada, a country guitarist Matt Morris calls "our new home away from home." He explains that "Canada was the very first overseas tour for us as a band. Our first show was in a small town called Chicoutimi and it was one of the best gigs I've ever played. The people, the crowd...... It was just soooo intense and supportive. They definitely love their rock and roll! I love Canada!"

That first incursion included showcases at Canadian Music Week in Toronto, where The Lazys quickly became the buzz band of the fest. "Playing Canadian Music Week was just insane," recalls Matt. "Great crowds, amazing venues and the support from everybody was just fantastic.  I had the time of my life, I had a ball!" 

His sentiments were echoed by his bandmates, singer Leon Harrison and bassist Glen Williams. Highlights for Leon included "playing shows with the mighty Grimskunk and seeing Tim Rodgers from [Oz rock legends] You Am I moshing to our set at The Bovine Sex Club." Glen also singles out that latter show, adding that "producer/engineer GGGarth Richardson was there and watched the whole set. He has produced some albums that I love!"

CMW has proved career-changing for the band. As a result of The Lazys' CMW performances [three showcases within 23 hours!], renowned Canadian artist manager Larry Wanagas of Bumstead Productions signed them to a co-management agreement to represent them worldwide, outside of Australia and New Zealand. In those markets, the band are handled by Geoff Trio and Code One Entertainment who, in turn, co-manages Bumstead clients The Trews, Tim Chaisson, and Poor Young Things in Australia.

Ralph James at The Agency Group was also instantly turned into a believer at CMW, signing The Lazys for exclusive concert booking in Canada. Superstar hard rock producer/engineer GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Nickelback, Mötley Crüe) was so blown away by one incendiary CMW set, he arranged to produce two new tracks at his Vancouver studio. "Shake It" was co-written by the band and Ian D'sa of Billy Talent, while two other Canadian rock heroes, John-Angus and Colin MacDonald of The Trews, co-wrote "Hard Luck" with The Lazys. Both these sizzlers will be included on The Lazys.

The Lazys  is scheduled to be released on top Canadian independent label Pheromone Recordings in October 2014, with "Shake It Like You Mean It" set to get things shaking as the first single.

The rest of the album was recorded in Brooklyn last year with the ace Canadian production team of Gus Van Go and Werner F. (Monster Truck, The Stills, Hollerado, The Trews, Priestess), and it perfectly captures their marriage of rock muscle and melody. 

This will be the first Canadian release for The Lazys, but they're certainly not recording novices. Down Under, they've released three EPs and a full-length (2010's Prison Earth), all to great response. Hailing from the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia, and formed in 2007, The Lazys soon built a loyal fan base via national tours with such international artists as Against Me, Juliette Lewis, The Answer and Aussie bands Gyroscope, The Living End, Grinspoon and more. 

In 2008, the band began working with producers Phil McKellar and Matt Lovell (Grinspoon, Silverchair). The double-A side single 'All Fired Up/ Union of the Underdogs' helped them win JD (Jack Daniels) Set, a nationwide music competition to find the best live band in Australia. The Lazys soon signed a publishing deal with Sony ATV, then recorded their self-titled debut EP. Fittingly, it was recorded at Sydney's legendary Albert Studios, birthplace of some of AC/DC's seminal albums. Lead track 'Hey Man' charted high on Triple M’s best Aussie songs of 2009 list, while 'Sunshine City' was adopted as a theme song by FOX Sports.

Since then, The Lazys have failed to live up to their name, choosing instead to work hard at their craft, honing their chops both in the studio and on stage. The Lazys is the happy result, an album that captures the band's classic Australian rock sound and melodic sense. 
Their finest work to date, it is stuffed full of sing-along choruses, paint-stripping powerhouse vocals, speaker tearing guitar riffs and songs that make you want to Rock!!

WITHOUT PARACHUTES are a three-piece rock band from Wollongong, New South Wales with roots in alternative, indie and grunge genres.
