Ireland's most-listened to CHR station RTÉ 2FM asked Wisebuddah to create a fresh, unified sound to highlight their commitment to supporting the best emerging Irish talent.

With new themes for 2FM Rising, which champions multi-genre new Irish music and up-and-coming artists, and new imaging for the RTÉ Choice Music Prize, along with wider IDs for the station; the package provides a unique and authentic identity for 2FM’s new music programming by combining original Irish voice over and sung vocals with the latest international CHR production techniques.

Reaching over 350,000 weekly listeners, iRadio is the leading CHR station in 15 Irish counties and this month the station launched a new Wisebuddah station sound to celebrate the award of their new 10-year broadcasting licence from the BAI (Broadcasting Authority of Ireland). 
 
Their package, built around a brand-new sonic identity, is a mixture of custom iRadio IDs and re-sing IDs from Wisebuddah’s popular Fun Radio package. Wisebuddah also produced bespoke News and Sports compositions, along with toolkit elements for branding song intros and other station imaging.

Their ability to understand our goals and ambitions… even to smile and nod at some of the crazier stuff was really important throughout this project. To sit in the studio, be part of the creative process and to hear and see the project come to life was fascinating.”

Wisebuddah IRADIO 2020 Montage

Broadcasting nationally throughout Portugal, RFM has this week launched a brand-new set of Wisebuddah jingles. The new package comprises ten high-energy, bespoke IDs designed to accompany the station’s existing Wisebuddah sounds.

Capturing the spirit of Portuguese Hot AC radio with punchy, progressive and convivial themes, the new IDs combine the station’s two main voiceovers with group sung vocals, which were recorded both in London and Lisbon. The package also once again uses the familiar 3-note sonic logo that has become a favourite with RFM listeners over the years. 

At the heart of its message, RFM seeks to play “Só Grandes Músicas” (Only Great Songs), and the new tracks that make up the new jingles package are therefore inspired by the most popular genres in contemporary music; with elements of Moombahton, DanceHall and Piano House (amongst many more) coursing through the music.

VIRGIN RADIO GETS NEW REELWORLD SOUND FOR 2021

Virgin Radio stations in Romania, Switzerland and Oman have all unveiled an innovative new station sound developed and produced by the team at ReelWorld.

Mitch Calladine is the Group Production Director for Virgin Radio International: “We were looking for a new sound for the stations and had the opportunity to plan music, lyrics, cast vocalists and voices from scratch with no limits on creativity. ReelWorld have delivered a world class package for Virgin Radio Romania, Switzerland, and Oman that has exceeded our expectations as the Virgin Radio network continues to grow.”

Incorporating original music and bespoke imaging, the rhythmic package is a fuzion of hip hop and R ‘n’ B sounds to help the station’s contemporary music proposition punch through on air.

ReelWorld Managing Director Anthony Gay said: “We recognise how important the Virgin Radio brand is and it was an honour to help innovate the station sound and find a new creative approach to reflect the music on these stations. 98FM’s new sound is an evolution of the 2018 branding and reflects recent developments in the station’s format and playlist to incorporate more of the biggest hits through a number of years, along with today’s best music. 
 
The package blends new custom elements (including a brand-new TOTH, fresh Show Openers for Dublin Talks and 98FM’s Big Breakast, and a new News theme), with a selection of IDs taken from Wisebuddah’s Antenne Bayern 2020 package. 
 
The current distinct 98FM sonic trigger is retained; and is designed to flexibly project the station’s branding by adapting to musical style, key and tempo to fit any song intro, bed or promo.
