It feels like only a moment ago that we welcomed Russian prodigy Andrey Pushkarev to the Circus Company fold with the Gingo Biloba 12”, and after that refined exercise in stripped down dancefloor aesthetics it’s gives us great pleasure to bring him back in for another three-pronged demonstration of his considerable studio talent. 

The core principles laid out in that first EP are back in abundance, with Pushkarev expanding on his love of dubbed-out dance music with a fresh batch of rhythms and pulses custom-made to ensnare the subconscious in that time-honoured tradition of meditative house and techno.

The sixth release from Solkyss is a real Smorgasbord with influences from all over Sweden.

Edvin Wikner, head chef and local marathon dancer, serves us an original production accompanied by a collaboration with Malmo-based Per Hammer. Trauma Tribe celebrates their shared love of extended morning sets—a passion ultimately manifested at Emmabodafestivalen two years ago when they broke Sweden’s record of the longest DJ set to date, playing for 24 hours straight.

The Original Kai Saa comes with an outstanding remix from no other than Arkajo.

The third vinyl release on Manjumasi comes from enigmatic Ukranian producer Silat Beksi, whose work shines in its expertly honed details. Each of his productions is infused with an intricate sense of groove and texture — one is left with the feeling that describing his sound as “minimal” does not do it justice. Over the course of many vinyl releases, he has shown himself to have a unique sonic touch, a style that is best described as his own.

The A-side features two works. Lead track DNA is a moody affair with an extremely deep descending bassline that anchors the low-end, while atmospheric pads develop above. The track is imbued with a feeling of life, evolving, emerging from the shadowy mists. This is followed up by Frozen, a more groove-forward number with an emphasis on trippy melodic details and vocal edits that keep the ears constantly engaged.

On the B side is Light In The Darkness, a meditative but driving track with a long and very deliberate energetic build. As the name suggests, this one conveys a sense of optimism, with wide pads that evoke new possibilities opening ahead.
