“PYRAMIDZ” is the lead single and the tenth track for untiljapan’s second studio album, “trompe l’oeil”.

The song was first previewed on May 19th, 2024, on both his Twitter/X (which is now deleted) and IG Story.

On November 7th, 2024, “chrismiyakee” would post unheard instrumentals and verses of the song via IG story. Confusing the Untiljapan subreddit on whether or not he was a part of the production. Later on having people questioned if he was the 3rd producer of PYRAMIDZ.

On December 5th, 2024, a group buy for the song was announced but was fell through less than 3 days later for unknown reasons.

On December 12th, 2024, he would preview the instrumental of the song on Instagram live on his alt account, @silenceintheballroom.

The same day, one of the producers who worked on the song, Nosaint, posted a picture of pyramids on his story, teasing a possible release of the song.

Japan would confirm the release of the song in response to the attempted group buy of the song by stating:

"Also, stop tryna leak my music lol that’s so mean"
"Pyramidz will drop."

He would perform the song for the first time at Rolling Loud Miami on December 15th, 2024.

The song was leaked online on January 3rd, 2025, with the song sounding unmixed and unfinished.

He would perform the song for the second time at Rolling Loud Cali on March 16, 2025.

On May 12th, 2025, after 4 months since the song had been leaked, he would finally announce that “PYRAMIDZ” is dropping as a lead single for his album on Wednesday, May 14th, on both his Twitter/X & IG story.

May 14th, 2025, PYRAMIDZ was released, almost a year after the first snippet was previewed. The song has incredibly different mixing, having a louder, grungier, distorted mix. Presumed to be done by "3rdup," which is a part of the well-known Producer collective "DRACOFM," known for their grungy, distorted modern rage beats, other members of this collective have done work for Untiljapan in the past.

On the same day the song was released, he would drop a music video directed by Trey Lyons.
