Ben Zimmerman back at WNYU to guest and show off his Ableton Rube-Goldberg machines/salvaged DeskMate samples/Sufjan Stevens remix. His LPx2 The Baltika Years (Software Recording Co.) is a retrospective of works made on Tandy software by the artist as a young man while a student at Brooklyn College and CalArts. One of my favorite releases of '15 for certain.

Sounds like: warped drum and bass, Myst, big box retail, The Bleeding Edge, Simon Reynolds word salad.

Joey Pizza Slice writes and performs music straight from the heart + belly, using "antiquated" mixers/tape players/synths/drum machines/karaoke machines. He might live above a junk shop. He's got a CD label called Beautiful Music CDs that takes advantage of a made-to-order Southwestern boutique manufacturer. Hear him sing songs from the New New American Songbook such as "Moon River" and "Baby Mayo." Word on the street is he has new releaseS coming YOUR WAY from Wharf Cat Records and is in talks for major motion picture courtesy Feeding Tube Records. Word under the street is that he has a tape out NOW from OSR Tapes called "OSR33." Aired 6.16.15.
