For the 100th entry in the Honcho Podcast series, we welcome @wonj!  Wonja is an Oakland, CA-based DJ, digger, and long-time music collector, originally from New England. Occasionally producing music as half of Motoko & Myers. This mix is about embracing the warm tingly feeling that only a blissed-out house jam can give you, and it’s dedicated to the idea of playing records for my friends in a small dark crowded bar.

We want to thank you all for supporting the podcast over the years, hitting 100 is an amazing milestone! We've worked with dozens of incredible artists from all around the globe, shining a light and boosting our community has truly been a pleasure. Here's to 100 more!

Dekmantel Selectors 2021 was a much needed musical reunion. After the preceding period of stillness, the catharsis and pure joy of finally being together again has been overwhelming. In the words of Simo Cell: "It's 7pm, and I have 5 missed calls on my phone: 'We're expecting massive rain tonight and we will have to close your stage earlier, is it okay for you to play earlier?' No time to stress and to think about it. I left my place and started my set straight away. From a few people to a packed dancefloor, I built up slowly from 90bpm to 160bpm (you know the drill). Pretty happy about the progression of the set and the rise in intensity. In the end, the crowd turned into a mosh pit on XXXtentacion and I had the best time behind the decks. It's good when things sometimes happen spontaneously like that. And it didn't rain after all."

For Number Fifty eight... A very special live recording from two US based queens, @ameliaholt & @notyumiko , who make up two thirds of the 'In Your Dirty Ears' crew. This set was recorded at Public Records in NYC. In Your Dirty Ears currently hosts a residency at Public Records. Amelia also hosts a bi-monthly radio residency on @movement-radio-athens.

Cut from the In Your Dirty Ears residency at Public Records, the mix spans from trip hop and dub to bass heavy dance music with Amelia Holt on for the first hour, followed by Yumi for the later hour and a half. There was a RiteTrax festival on at the Bolehills during the day and when that finished the hordes descended on the Hallamshire making it one of the busiest yet.  I had an early evening set and played some deep Techno with a splash of trance at the end, enjoy!

Almost always parties put on by friends in places off the beaten path. Most memorably, any party that’s happened in the woods of Stanley Park.

Describe the first moment where you had an epiphany about your love for music?

Getting a discman in concurrence of the napster advent and burning cds felt special and allowed me to discover so much music!

Hooping MDMA and going to Robert Johnson for the first time.
