Dear friends & visitors: “Time” from the “The Dark Side Of The Moon”-album of Pink Floyd (1973) is another instrumental song project with my dear musician buddies Jimmy Quango, Honeyspiders and me. With this song and album I associate many great moments from my youth, when I listened to the songs with my buddies for hours and discussed the lyrics. A great time that I will never forget!! Jimmy Quango recorded the soulful fingerstyle acoustic guitar part. And Honeyspiders contributes with tastful ambient guitar sounds. Please check out the YT channel of these amazing musicians (see links below). I recorded and played all the other instruments (drums, bass, e-guitar, keyboards), did the song arrangement and the mixing/mastering. Honeyspiders and I did the video creation. "You don't sound like anyone else," said Danny Thompson - renowned bass player for Nick Drake and Joe Strummer - about English musician Conil.

The GRAMMY-winning engineer for Tom Waits and Elvis Costello, Tchad Blake said: "Strange Part of the Country is an awesome album! I still listen to it."

Fleetwood Mac legend Peter Green liked Conil's music so much he stopped by Conil’s house to record with him. They recorded a version of Conil's homage to the jazz greats "Round Midnight". 

Strange Part of the Country never conformed to any current trends and has remained timeless. Now, people are discovering this album and it is becoming an all-time favourite. 

When the album was released in the UK, it received some amazing press. Britain's biggest selling music monthly Q magazine gave it: "Four stars - Q Recommends". Blues Matters magazine wrote: "One of the most original artists out there". In the next issue, Blues Matters put him on the front cover.

Conil left London after Strange Part of the Country was released and has spent the last ten years living in the United States and Europe - including New Orleans, New York City, and Berlin.

My compositions, and other artist's compositions that I arrange, do not conform to any genre. Its classification is post-genre which is music beyond any description. In fact, the artist becomes the genre. My compositions are heavily influenced by progressive rock, post-rock, and classical music. My most Influential composers/musicians are Tony Banks, Richard Wright, Jeff Lynne, Steve Hackett, David Gilmour, Robert Fripp, Phil Collins, Keith Moon, Erik Satie, Claude Debussy, and Modest Mussorgsky.

I'm a songwriter, song arranger, multi-instrumentalist and Mixing/Mastering freak dedicated to home recording and music collaborations. And the guitar is my main instrument. My musical roots go back to the 70s and 80s. In addition to my own songs, I am regularly looking for musical pearls, which I often celebrate with my musician buddies as part of virtual song projects, and thereby dress them in a new musical guise. My musician friends and I do not have financial interests. 

To expand my network of musicians, I'm always looking for new musician friends - mainly singers - who are interested in music collaboration, but who have reached their musical limits on their own and now want to take the next step.
