Great remake guys.  Turrican has some of the best video game music for such an old game!

Jonne Valtonen was born on March 23, 1976 in Turku, Finland and was raised in Kaarina along with his brother. He began learning to play classical piano at the age of nine.
Valtonen’s first music compositions were done on his home computer, a Commodore 64. During his teen years, he became involved in the PC demoscene where he was able to pursue his passion for electronic music production. He has won several awards in this field: Between 1991 and 1996 Valtonen created music for one of the most widely popular groups in the demoscene at the time, the Future Crew. Eventually he became their lead composer under the pseudonym Purple Motion. Some of his best known compositions were "UnreaL II (Second Reality)", "Satellite One", and "Starshine".

The MER (Model Electronic Records) series was initially produced for the film and broadcasting industry and has been highly acclaimed by music supervisors both in Japan and overseas. To make these releases more accessible to music fans, general distribution on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify began with the release of “Anti-Crime Breaks (MER-3006)” in 2021.

“Cyber City Connection: Urban Synthwave and Electro Funk” is, as the title suggests, a compilation themed around cyberpunk and sci-fi culture that dominated the 1980s and has recently been reevaluated and developed in movies and video games. Inspired by the futuristic worldviews that have spawned diverse forms of expression from novels and Hollywood films to Japanese manga and animation, the album features new arrangements of existing tracks from various monikers as well as new tracks under the MER name. Unlike typical “cyberpunk” works that often focus solely on the dark dystopian worlds seen in foreign films and games, this compilation sets itself apart by incorporating the exhilaration, urbanity, and romantic atmosphere unique to Japanese 80s culture.
