Mindspring Music Presents: DEVICEFUL - Process Interactive [MSM109]

“Process Interactive” by DEVICEFUL (aka DB) is based around a keen fascination with how much information comes into our minds and spirit; and how that process results in music. Memories, emotion, relationships, love, synths, voices, samples, percussion, and FX all sort of meld, pushed forward by the inspiration of other artist’s creations. So much being processed, and flowing back out as music/song creations that evolve into a bit of something to be heard, and hopefully enjoyed. While writing and producing these four tracks, Don Brown, the producer felt blessed to have so many amazing pallets of color to work from and so many incredible artists to be inspired by. One of his all-time favorites is Illusive Tuna. Their work has been and continues to be, very inspirational for him, and when they agreed to remix Creole Cave of Wonders for this EP, it put just the perfect point on it.

John Soulacybin's been humbly raising the bar on sound design dance music with every release.  Since our discovery of Soulacybin's music we've appreciated his laser like focus and attention to detail.  His new album with Gravitas Records entitled "Stazi" is a culmination of years of hard work and pure intent. These tracks represent what we believe to be the sound Soulacybin has been working towards since he began with this project. John is a true musicians producer. His percussion background is heard clearly through the hypnotic and technical rhythms present in his music. With an array of sonic influences, Soulacybin uses recognizable sounds to create calming nostalgia among a tidal wave of glitched novelty. Organic instruments drenched in "Dub" delays and reverb tails create a psychotropic auditory landscape for the listener. A production style developed by studio engineering demigods King Tubby and Lee "Scratch" Perry, modernized and encoded with a modern gospel of the present day. The comforting and accessible nature of dub reggae makes a perfect sugar for the spoon fed hyper dimensional sonic medicine that which is Soulacybin's "Stazi".

Succeeding the release of Desert Dwellers’ monumental Breath album, Amani and Treavor continue their patronage to cultural celebration and musical heritage with Breath Reimagined Vol. 1. Featuring an abundance of new-comers to the Desert Dwellers sound, this inaugural volume shall precede a trilogy of remix albums to come from the ingenious duo. Throughout Breath Reimagined, 14 brilliant producers within the psychedelic and world-fusion communities exhibit 14 euphonious recreations, each derived from one of the original 10 tracks.

Falling into an altered state of consciousness, Halfred recreates “Dreams Within a Dream” with dub bestrewn over alluring instrumentals. Once you leave your meditative state, Nanosphere merges seductive instrumentation with funky low frequencies as we continue “Traversing the Endless Road.” Forging ahead, Gumi guides you through a turbulent wind of dynamic and atmospheric beats in “Closed Eyes in a Dust Storm.” Traveling by foot, you discover the “One That Shows The Way” through MantisMash’s sonorous synths and Somatoast’s soprano rendition. 

As you begin “Longing For Home,” DISSØLV raises the original downtempo piece an octave higher to create a sonic soundscape while Mindex incorporates elements of glitch. Mumukshu reinvents the original global folk “At Last, Our Refugee” track into a resounding four-minute bass voyage that overlays an accelerated tribal trap foundation. “Praise Her, the Fire Keeper” receives reimaginations from Pitch Black, who adds a bass backdrop to the tranquil piece, and TRIBONE, who takes the composition underground. As listeners continue to explore the “Realms of Splendor,” DRRTYWULVZ commences a series of bass undertones as metal continuously rattles together in Erothyme’s recreation. Globular’s Vicious Ether Remix of “To Be the Air” fosters an upbeat environment for the buoyant acoustic atmosphere. Compelling you back into deep meditation as Breath Reimagined concludes, Bluetech’s Berlin School Mix introduces Holotropic Breathwork to “Breathing the Mysteries.”

Wolf Tech was formed in 2006 (Age 16) in a small bedroom studio setup. Hailing in the depths of the gnarly ancient nature, where thoughts, inspiration and contemplation have space to breathe. An older friend had shown him how to use an early version of Ableton Live, having dabbled in the 'Acid' software and 'Music 2000' as a young teen. Musical brainwaves  started to evolve into an infinite interest to sculpting found waveforms, and defining a sound for the new age. 

Expect deep dark dubstep basses, glitchy melancholic beats, otherworldly alien morphs, combined with musicality and melody. Merging powerful synthesizer jams with organic foley formulated a serious beast.

​Tom hybridizes the Digital realm with organic forms. Unreal worldly sounds and field recordings, spark imagination into the psychonaut. "Try to embrace these blissful energies and pure sound-waves,feel and visualize these noises in 3d space. When one taps into the magical and spiritual audio realm, boundaries of the mind begin to dissolve, sounds can be sculpted and manipulated in ways we could never imagine"

Having experienced the festival culture, influenced by dub, from a young age and It didn't take long before Tom broke into the wonderful world of music production. Always trying to push the envelope of new genres and warped sounds. Mr Chants creations feature organic textured sound-scapes with a wide spectrum of emotional content.
