Chill Out Gardens  | Boom Festival 2016

So, here's my set from the Chillout Gardens at #Boomfestival 2016. So exciting to play there for the first time, a beautiful and crazy experience..!  This was a 12:00 - 14:00 set in the crazy sunshine (shaded..) for some context.. :) Also, in the interests of openness, this is a backup of my set, as I couldn't record the actual set, due to technical issues (and even had to rely on this backup at times). Still, it all come out OK and we shared a magical 2 hours....!! I hope you can find some of that magic here... X

It's too easy for an artist to overthink the release of new music, which often results in hoarding it from the world for far too long.  I find myself at a juncture in my personal life where i can no longer live as if there is any amount of time guaranteed in this body, where i can no longer afford to take things for granted or resist action for fear of the outcome.  We have this beautifully delicate opportunity to live, love, and express, and it is our duty to seek our potential through all of our connections, words, thoughts, and actions.  I am learning to release attachment, surrender expectation, and accept things as they are, and i'd like to reflect that through my music.  So with this offering, this music is no longer "mine" but belongs to anyone who may find it useful in aiding growth, joy, dance, introspection, flow, love-making, intra and interpersonal connection, and any other facet of your life.

Hey friends!

Stoked to present you with my set from Hyperbole/Octopus Garden on burn night this year. This mix is jam packed with unreleased tunes from my new 14-track full length album, The World That You Know, which is extremely close to fruition, and a couple remixes of a couple good dudes @Sixis-3 and @Bogtrotter. The other talented collaborators featured on this 45 minute psychedelic excursion are @wassuop @resonantlanguage @WALA and @CelloJoe. An older friend had shown him how to use an early version of Ableton Live, having dabbled in the 'Acid' software and 'Music 2000' as a young teen. Musical brainwaves  started to evolve into an infinite interest to sculpting found waveforms, and defining a sound for the new age. 

Expect deep dark dubstep basses, glitchy melancholic beats, otherworldly alien morphs, combined with musicality and melody. Merging powerful synthesizer jams with organic foley formulated a serious beast.

​Tom hybridizes the Digital realm with organic forms. Unreal worldly sounds and field recordings, spark imagination into the psychonaut. Having experienced the festival culture, influenced by dub, from a young age and It didn't take long before Tom broke into the wonderful world of music production. Always trying to push the envelope of new genres and warped sounds. Mr Chants creations feature organic textured sound-scapes with a wide spectrum of emotional content.
