These mixes, which collectively represent the song called "Other Side," are all based on the same musical elements. The percussion's less than completely "4 to the floor" pattern is consciously reminiscent of the first song - "Keep Pushing Thru" - of the album on which it belongs. In fact, many of the components of the "Other Side" mixes originated in the same song, including the basis for the sounds themselves. 

Other than those similarities, however, the structures of the "Other Side" mixes are noticeably different pieces than "Keep Pushing Thru." The bass line is far more staccato and jumpy than the repeatedly swelling nature of the latter songs. The same is true of the ambient chords, though they are exceptionally minimal in comparison - only playing Eb major or it's relative minor, namely C minor. 

The most vivid aspect of "Other Side," is the lilting melody in nearly constant descent. When it hits the bottom, it remains there...only to strike the top more and more frequently as it returns. On it's way down it is sure to touch upon every chromatic pitch in its octave, yet only rests on each diatonic one. This comprehensive system of melodic motion serves to sound every added pitch to the otherwise repeating Eb major harmony. 

So, why the name "Other Side"? Well, I s'pose I could simply say: 

"Keep pushing thru 
till you get to 
where you need to 
get to... 

...on the other side."

My names Brandon Cameron, Im First Nations/Polish/Ukrainian... I grew up on a reserve in northern BC.  I started to play with DJ equipment around 2003, just beatmatching with old vinyl decks. and moved on to some drum machines various cdj's and other crazy effects processor's.  I really like using the equipment I have now, which is Ableton and a midi controller. Im going to add songs as I can, maybe the odd remix.  Look forward to uploading onto Soundcloud.
