Storming out of Leighton Buzzard, Ego Trip deliver a no-holds barred set of high energy through well-crafted indie/alternative songs, leaving audiences involuntarily humming their original material. Since finalising their line up in September 2011, the band have gone from strength to strength, capturing the attention of new music lovers through a successful debut EP, charting in the iTunes Singles Chart, entitled ‘Krokodilian’ and supporting the likes of Bow Wow Wow, All The Young, Dodgy and Bastille. Ciancio and Murphy form a tightly-knit rhythm section, with Askew-Conti weaving vocal hooks around his self-styled, staccato rhythm guitar, allowing the innovative Smith to create his signature, space-age, lead guitar lines that shimmer and squeal above the sea of sound that the band creates. Appearing at O2 Academy Oxford this August in association with BBC Introducing, the band expect a year of hard work as well as making sure the windows are closed and you've removed your car's aerial before you go through the monkey bit in Woburn Safari Park.
