Time to welcome more new, undiscovered talent to the fold, this time we give you Sheffield producer thatmanmonkz with an amazing EP entitled Please Don’t Slip, Trip Or Fall Off. thatmanmonkz came to our attention last year when his track That Would Be Alright appeared on Tone Control Music. The low-slung, bluesy inflections combined with Moodymann-esqe vocals and deep pads had us instantly hooked so when he presented us with three brand new tracks for Delusions Of Grandeur we literally bit his hand off.

On the A side we have Girl I Know It which, if ever we’re asked to define a D.O.G sound, pretty much sums it up perfectly. The whole track is built around a super-fat, looped up bassline which adds a real energy and drive. Chuck in a great vocal hook, flapping kicks and rattling hats and you’ve got a peaktime smash which sounds completely fresh whilst staying true to the blueprint of classic house.

Flip over for Blowin’ My Mind which nudges down the BPM a touch for an amazing jazz-inflicted mid-tempo house jam. Once again, thatmanmonkz lets his hip-hop roots shine with MPC beats laying the foundation for the raw bass samples and dusty rhodes.

Finally, things get super-sultry on Be With Me featuring the vocals of Dnae. Compressed pads set the mood on this lovely, soulful number but once again, things are kept raw, fresh and bumpy thanks to the beat programming skills of thatmanmonkz. We absolutely love this release and hope you share our excitement in the obvious talent of this UK producer.

Young Berliner @vincent-vedat has been forging a sound that blends woozy deep house aesthetic with a something a little bit chunkier over the past year, with a slew of his tracks making their way onto the Turned On Podcast and into my sets. Great reactions always. 

His output on S.G.O.L. continues to impress, with this new beaut ‘As Soft As Velvet’ coming on their debut vinyl release and continuing his trademark blend of classic soul sampling and raw, gently thumping beats.

We’re glad to introduce you to the very first release from Moony Me on In The Box Records. This Vienna based artist has already shown his talent with a recent release on Uncanny Valley alongside Max Graef, S3A and Cuthead.
We can confirm is brilliant skills for sampling on this EP as he handles a beautiful smooth sample of strings and plays around with a nice rhodes and echo voices. @jacquesrenault gave to his remix a more punchy and powerful interpretation, a house direction.

Common Labour is an independent record label based in Helsinki, Finland. Fairly discreet over the internet since its creation in 2013, it has been releasing good physical records consistently over the years, mostly by its head honcho PothOles aka Tuomo Aslak Puranen, as well as a series of various EPs going by the name of "Odd Jobs" featuring some under the radar Finnish producers. Their newest 12" is by PothOles again, the "Polaroids EP", and we were immediately amazed by the quality of this release. Take "Feather Island" premiered here and think Scandinavian deep house with a touch of groove : warm and crisp pads, a solid percussion beat punctuated by a teasing synth bass, this is pure bliss ! Props to Common Labour for this fantastic 12" coming to you on June 6th.

His apartment sat overlooking the busy high street. A glow from the lamp was the only light turned on. He watched out upon the lonely city as another day dawned. The blue dusk illuminated the morning and the world would soon rise awake. He however, would remain watching, another lonely man without a place. 

In Any Case are about to release a five track EP from an assortment of producers. The record incorporates a range of sounds and expressions spanning house, disco and hip hop.

Un*Deux's previous outing on Ondule doffed an oversized cap to the funk-fuelled tech-house stylings of Robsoul Recordings, with a dash of DJ Sneak style bump thrown in for good measure. This time round, the French outfit has decided to mix things up a little. "Two For The Bass" combines sweaty, warehouse-friendly house ingredients - old scholl vocal samples, relentless percussion, and so on - with a throbbing, Giorgio Moroder style bassline, while "Tools For Fools" is a house tempo trip into the world of electronic jazz breaks. Throw in the loopy, mid-tempo, disc-tinged shuffle of "Groovy Vapes", and you have a pleasingly eclectic offering.
