A brilliant song and a fantastic vocal! A really super arrangement too. Nice!

The sudden death of rock drummer Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters) prompted me to write this song. While preparing for a live performance, life may abruptly end, symbolized by the lyrics “a snare without a rhythm”.
Arpeggiated flat5/major7 chords open the song, creating an uneasy feel as if something is about to happen. The unexpected song's ending symbolizes that “fate cut another ribbon”.

I experimented with combining ragtime and blues in this piece and created this hybrid. 

The blues/rag hybrid is in the form of Intro-AA-B-CC-B-A.

The strains A and B are written to be reminiscent of song singing and bridge B is more like an instrumental solo.

I am originally from L. A. Calif, graduate from Jefferson High school in 1969.I move to Arkansas in 1969 and love it here. I am a Family man of 42 yrs to a wonderful woman named Linda. I have 4 grown children, 3 boys, and 1 girl and 2 
grandchildren. I have been a songwriter, and have been making music for the 
last 36 yrs. I love all kinds of music such as rock, jazz, r & b, soul, and country rock and some classic. A lot of my music is inspired by groups like the "earth 
wind & fire, stylistics, the Dell, West Montgomery, Al Jarreau, Paul Taylor, 
Jonathan Butler, Marvin Gaye, The Temptation, Teddy Pendergrass" just to name a few. I love old school music. I do a lot of my own music and write my own songs. I have my own studio at my home, and it gives  me the chance to do my 
own thing. I try to be creative in my mixing of my music. I really hope everyone will find my music interesting and enjoyable to listen to. I thank all of you for
