Award winning film & TV composer Chris Anderson has had successes in every area of his composing career. His 60+ film scores range from full orchestral scores to roots, jazz, swing, rock & modern cutting edge soundscapes. Equally at home in front of a piano, a computer, an orchestra, a funk band, or a Javanese Gamelan, Anderson is a proven musical chameleon.

Anderson studied composition at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, continuing this focus in a post-graduate film-scoring program at USC, where he studied with Buddy Baker, David Raksin & Jerry Goldsmith, among others. 

In addition to his film & television credits, Anderson has written and performed pieces for theatre, dance, choir, and various classical ensembles, from string quartets to full symphony orchestra. He has produced several independent releases, including his own ‘Sepiatone’, an original CD of his eclectic instrumentals, and ‘Whitey’s Carnival of Funk’, his light hearted yet meticulously orchestrated funk/jazz CD. Both have enjoyed national and international radio play, as well as featured placement in TV and film. 

In the summer of 2011, Anderson recorded “the american mosaic – an unsung requiem”, his 30-minute piece for symphony orchestra. While actively pursuing new music ensembles to perform it, he is spending 2012 continuing to compose for film & TV, and focusing on new commissions for concert music.
