Party lovers and party starters grow up. We’re here today, excited as if it was our first time in line for the club, to announce our very first label project. As we believe good vibes go hand in hand with the good sound we made our vision real and loud: our very first release as BS Radio label is coming very soon. BS Radio Volume 01, a superb 11-tracks album compiled by the exquisite Eternal Love duo.

BS Radio, the music soul of Burro Studio, is music, events and people. So let’s get the party started.

“When the lovely Burro Studio crew asked us to compile volume 1, we did not have any experience in curating a full musical discographic project. So, the easiest way was to ask friends to contribute to their music. We can definitely say we were lucky to be surrounded by such talented people ! Big thanks to all the artists involved for creating this emotional musical journey: the perfect soundtrack from the first warm lights of the sunrise to the lunar reflections of a summer night by the sea”.

Reissue number three for https://soundcloud.com/heelsandsouls combines the Balearic bliss of Paprika Soul’s, ‘Come With Me’, with Soft Sugar’s dream house gem ‘Métro’ and an unreleased version of the tripped-out groover ‘Swampin'. A cherry picking of the best of three rare and
sought after ‘90s EPs from the minds of High Wycombe’s Alan Barnes, Andrew Spiller and Andrew Hughes.
Paprika Soul saw Barnes, a DJ in his own right who regularly worked with the likes of Gilles Peterson and Norman Jay, join forces with Andrew Spiller, keys player for UK jazz funk band Push. Spiller was also co-owner of Radar Studios out of which Barnes and Hughes were making music as Soft Sugar.
About as anthemic as they get, Paprika Soul's 'Come With Me (Sea
Breeze)' is an otherworldly electronic interpretation of Tania Maria’s
beloved Brazilian jazz funk classic from '83. Vocalist Sarah Newell's
unique delivery combines with a euphoric blend of Barnes’ and
Spiller’s crisp drum machine programming and cosmic synthwork.
Complete with crashing waves and Balearic birds, it’s a timeless,
endorphin-tingling track that feels even more relevant than ever. The
A-side also features the brilliant street soul flavoured ‘The Chill’ mix
and the ‘Bossa Mix’, the most true in form to the original.
On the flip, an earlier meeting of minds between Barnes and Andrew Hughes, that culminated in Soft Sugar’s dream house flavoured ‘Métro (Funk Mix)’ - a homage to time spent cruising the Parisian train system. Sighted by Barnes as his favourite of their productions, it blends that riviera feel of classic M1 stabs and sweeping pads with a dreamy bassline and stuttering breaks. Sadly it didn’t get the recognition it deserved at the time and has since become hot property for the eagle-eyed digger out there.
Closing it out, an unreleased alternate version of ‘Swampin’, made in the following session to the mix found on the Basement Records House Department EP. Mesmerizingly smooth, this 110bpm house-groover busts the brain with wigged out chants and intoxicating
arpeggiations.
Fully licensed from Alan Barnes himself and remastered by Cicely Balston, 20% of profits from Heels & Souls Recordings and Prime Direct Distribution will be donated to Zaatari Radio – a humanitarian collective working with war-affected communities around the world.

Following their debut album ‘Visions Of Ultraflex’, the Norwegian-Icelandic electro-duo serves up a mouthwatering extended remix 12" with two of Norways most distinctively renowned underground producers and DJs. Telephones twists ‘Work Out Tonight’ into a bubbly Balearic Pop block-party, fusing the vibe of NYC Peech Boys, Quincy Jones' 80s productions and Larry Levan's infamous take on Nami Shimada/Soichi Terada, all rounded off with a decadent beatless ambient acid outro mix. On the flip, the norse force that is DJ Sotofett, heavy-handedly rubs ‘Secret Lover’ into an uncompromising chunk of Cosmic Electro, with growling vocoders, rugged drums and stratospheric synths, progressively evolving into a tripped out dub-disco electro-mutant. Each side clocking in at approx. 12 minutes.. do not miss!

Milanese duo Eternal Love, AKA Edo and Fede, have quickly made a name for themselves through their joyful DJ sets which connect the dots between Balearic, disco and dusty classic house and breakbeat - check their recent mix for us to hear the vibes for yourself.
