London techno label 199 returns with its first release of 2024, and the fifth in its now coveted ‘Exchange’ series. With support from the likes of Ben UFO, Laurent Garnier, Voigtmann, Ivan Smagghe, and LUXE on its previous editions, the series ascends into a heavier realm with its latest volume. 

The two-track EP marks a debut for Ukrainian producer Vitya Payalnik, who serves up a darkly whimsical take on bass-heavy electro house on the B-side, while the A is handled with an assured swagger by Jovak, who returns for his second consecutive release with 199.

With “Plastic”, the A2 track from the collaborative "Inner Child EP", Light Blue File and Occibel deliver a playful yet precision-engineered dancefloor bomb that embodies the spirit behind the record itself: creativity born from spontaneity. Released on Playfool - Occibel’s own imprint and an extension of his vision of collaborative exploration - the track stands as a reflection of the energy that emerges when ideas are exchanged freely and enthusiastically. A few beers, some laughs, and suddenly a shared frequency becomes real.

Stylistically, “Plastic” hits that sweet spot between House groove and Electro bite.
