The original version of the track was recorded in Marfa, TX, before the band commenced official tracking for 'Shields' in Cape Cod and New York, and was released earlier this month on 'Shields Expanded' and 'Shields B-Sides.' The collections build on their acclaimed 2012 iTunes Album of the Year with exclusive b-sides, demos, and remixes.

'Shields' was released to some of 2012's best reviews, with Pitchfork calling it "magnificently epic" and the NY Times hailing it as "enthralling." The band performed tracks from the album on Colbert, Fallon, Letterman, Leno, Austin City Limits, and Ellen, and played their biggest headlining and international festival shows to date.

Off the back of another incredible summer that saw 'Cool You Off', 'Breathin' and 'Make Me Feel Good' become staples in the Beatport chart, EDX looks set to finish the year with the same gusto as he started with his latest EP, 'Collateral Effects', coming through on Enormous Tunes on 1st December. 

With his progressive sound specifically designed to make people smile, the two-track EP delivers some of EDX's signature melody work that'll instantly brighten up the dance floor. Its title track 'Collateral Effects' features an elevating, nu-disco beat that's layered with soft male vocals and hints of string and percussion work, whilst the B side named 'Empathy' takes things deeper with a dominating kick drum - and a great demonstration of Maurizio Colella, aka EDX's long-standing dedication to the scene.

After gracing the bill alongside Avicii and Laidback Luke at Ibiza's coveted open air club Ushuaia bcd in August, EDX is currently undergoing a massive tour of North America; proving that 2014 has been another stellar year for the Swiss. Sulaiman released a record called Blessing, a loop that was taking from Teedra Moses 'R U 4 Real', off his 2011 effort Past Perfect. Vic Spencer was listening to a show mix that Sulaiman created for that record that was used for a show at Reggies and decided to 'scribble art' over the looped show mix version and entitled it Standing Distance, a record that displays Spencer in his lonely moments, even when people are standing around him. It's more like he saying he's the same way when he's alone and when he is around others. The melody itself is mind catching so Vic recruited Doc DaMindbenda to engineer the record at the Grind House a day later after it was written. Packed with enough bars to knock a streetlight down, Vic shed pain, life, success and everything worth living for into one record. Peep it while you around tons of people and I bet you "feel distant".
