First up is BYOG (Crown Heights), a summery hip hop infused , uptempo head nodder. Featuring an abstract but undeniably addictive baseline, and driving, crisp drum pattern, completed with rich golden analogue textures  . On the flip side, SIBWIR is a deep, slow-mo chugger. This year we have reached our long-term goal as a label which was to expand our releases into the wax department. We feel like we’ve done a good job bringing upcoming and original local talent to the surface so far and it is only fitting that our first vinyl release is done by the Icelandic duo https://soundcloud.com/davidhjalti. The duo has been busy with the production since their arrival from Manchester and have played a number of great live sets underlining their skills as producers. We feel that this release is the high standard we set ourselves before going vinyl and that this is just a small first step in a fruitful beginning for the producers David & Hjalti. Laurence Guy has recently dropped some great solo EP's on Church and Rose Records and contributed to compilations and split EP's on CinCin and Outplay but his latest addition to Churches Volumes 002 has the entire Phonica crew tapping our feet and nodding our heads in approval! JLM and Chris Wang started the party Love Dancing in 2009 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Love Dancing, along with Jesse Proudfoot and Chris Allen’s Good Faith,  was a formative dance experience for many of us in Vancouver and an essential ingredient in the Mood Hut stew. The music on this disc dates from that period and captures some of the energy of the Love Dancing parties. We hope you enjoy it.

South London producer Ben Hauke takes a sonic excursion to South America via Lewisham for a new seven track release for Far Out Recordings. While littered with Afro-Latin percussion, and samples of obscure Brazilian, Cuban and Colombian records, Only Old stays true to Ben’s distinctly London identity, with a record that fluctuates between house, broken beat and instrumental hip-hop. 
Having collaborated with the likes of Nubya Garcia and Joe Armon Jones, Ben Hauke stands at the electronic end of London’s new jazz movement. Currently working on new releases with more of a focus on live instrumentation, Ben titled the release ‘Only Old’ as it leans more heavily on his foundational approach to music making: an idiosyncratic, almost brazen sampling style in productions bursting with personality.  
Always full of character and style, Hauke’s productions have seen him likened to Theo Parrish and Madlib, with an altogether physical approach to sound. Title track ‘Only Old’ is moody broken beat with eerie sampled vocals and piano. ‘Get Up To Get Down’ is a light n’ breezy summer house stepper, while Brazil-inspired ‘Runners’ sounds as if it was made for MF Doom. 
Only Old will be released on 180g Vinyl and digitally 20th July. Sleeve design by fellow South London based artist Samuel Lloyd.
