The young scientist takes us here in his first "Méharées". These long raids on camelback, interested in nature, cliffs, sand, scorpions and snakes. Vegetation both rare and precious, his music has taken, as if by mimicry, the characteristics of the desert: dry and hostile. Philippe Toussaint knew how to restore the magic of its horizons, which unfolds endlessly, and where DJ Ungel sails there as on a sea.

Grid turns one ! To celebrate our first anniversary, we are happy to release our second compilation with twelve amazing artists from around the world (USA, Japan, Ireland, Mexico, Austria, Slovenia, Switzerland and England, of course).

Still focused on eclectism, each track is part of a colorful selection ready for a party summer. From experimental opening by K Wata, through bass bangers from Sputnik One, Mafou and Yilan, deep objects by Kincaid, Mistareez and Tristan Arp, engineering techno from Erik Luebs, Christian Kroupa and Fingers of God, to crazy shifted tracks by Nico and Henzo.

As its musical title evocates, after a heavy loaded first year, we are starting a new loop coming back with a compilation, to go further next.

Fingers Of God - Modal Resonator

Pure Space returns with our final release of 2022, delivered by none other than Zara - a warm light shining from Naarm (Melbourne, Australia).

Crafted in the midst of Australia’s last summer, these tracks capture the blissful and euphoric feeling of warm weather and the potential it brings…

Starting on an ambient note and progressing to drum & bass, the release seeks to take listeners on a transcendental journey to a freaky realm.

We start with Pirr, a track representative of dawn and the new beginnings it brings. It’s an eerie, yet anticipatory feeling lingers in the air as the rising sun diminishes the darkness and reveals the beauty of the landscape. Soft kicks coupled with bird song gently grasp the attention, effortlessly drawing you into the release.

Guitar and reverb drums define the second track, Idyll. Switching the mood to melancholia where the track meanders around floaty vocals creating a gentle fluidity throughout.

Entering the DnB realm, Quixotic combines driving hi-hats, wubs, bass to instigate movement. The floating female vocals carry you through the track guiding you on what feels like a utopian dream.

Synthesised drums are combined with heavy bass, arps and breaks to represent the peak of the journey. A chaotic, albeit warm track with and trippy moments in time.

As the sun sets once again, the arc of the journey ends on acid synths, arps, claps and hi hats on Elysium. Transporting the listener into a sleep, a moment of peace or back down to earth.

After gaining recognition through @ickpa and Nearbyrave, he’s been showcasing his live act in Amsterdam's Garage Noord for a night curated by @upsammy. Currently co-organizing events with @motsion-ua, Ukrainian multidisciplinary formation blending audio and visual performances.

Ousmane is a friend of ours here in Freiburg, where he came as a refugee in 2019. He first moved from the refugee reception centre in Freiburg to a shared accommodation in Offenburg. This year, he then had to move to Renchen near Offenburg. As he is doing his apprenticeship in Freiburg, this means a 3-hour commute there and back every day. Ousmane would like to move to Freiburg and friends of ours have organized a room in a shared flat for him. But as he can't give notice for his shared container room in Renchen, he has to pay two months' rent. We therefore want to use the profits from this EP to support Ousmane during this time. The overall donation target is €2000 so that he can pay the double rent for 6 months.

Kind of a hard shift from what we are used to with my music but I've been wanting to make something more atmospheric and less reliant on a sample for awhile now. The brief vocal sample is none other than Nina Simone, a personal favorite and a beautiful voice. She accents some crunchy and smooth filtered pads with a smooth first half, and an all amen second half. I hope you enjoy!

Even a historical pandemic couldn't take summer hits away from our hearts. Exceptional circumstances means extraordinary compilation.

Worst Records' hall of fame welcomes new faces around the pool for a 13-stages enlightened drama. You'll meet again with the top 3 podium made of A Strange Wedding, Jacques Satre and Christian Coiffure, all rensponsible for our first three releases, building up a mesmerizing, out of season mental workout. Extending the dimension of trance towards Saint-Etienne, Del.Duc brings on a curious yet serene astral travel, and we can also count on the distant reinforcements from the Toulouse Gouffre Club crew with Jan Loup and her glitch spangled hazy dub from far futures and the new trance comer from Bordeaux, Lazuli.
Special friends are also gathering here, as Myako is sewing on thin fabric a vaporous dub in shades of grey, the one-and-only master touki Théo Muller delivers a cinematic remedy to confinement.
Liberation through hearing, it is, as borders explode with the presence of many : Yin Yang Audio in a transatlantic IDM/break jump, Forest on Stasys (aka Mental Resonance) and his tough shamanic dance, Clemens Friedrich slowing down all senses at once and JEANS, boss of Oracle Bones, speeding us up in the hyperloop.
Finally, as teamwork means a lot, we have given the pleasure to open this compilation to the four-headed Lausanne/Freiberg hydra 4POTR and their cryptic transdimensional message, and the honor of closing this pool party to the 404 trio gem from Candoblé with a fine piece of wonder.

Not exactly your usual summer compilation, nor the hits you could imagine, but surely the music you'll need under the hot sun of 2020.
