The Ballad Of Stingy Jack, Is a song I wrote from a Irish folk tale ,

A man named Jack played a series of tricks on the Devil, ultimately tricking him into promising not to claim his soul after death.  When Jack died, he was not allowed into Heaven. Because the Devil had promised not to take his soul, he was also barred from Hell.  Jack was condemned to wander the Earth forever. As a final act of mockery, the Devil gave him a burning coal to light his path through the darkness, which Jack placed inside a hollowed-out turnip. Originally, people in Ireland carved scary faces into turnips and potatoes to frighten away Jack's wandering spirit. When Irish immigrants came to the United States, they started using pumpkins, which were native to America, and this new tradition spread to become the jack-o'-lanterns we know today.
