Inspired by Greek singer Zaris Alexiou’s rendition, Kellerman sculpts his own interpretation of this sinuous musical myth through tantalizing percussion, sparkling guitar, and his signature storytelling flute. Taryn Louch’s entrancing vocal performance tells of the cloud nymph Nefelis, who is pursued and treated ill by two mischievous angels who become enamored with her. Mighty Zeus steps in, though, and transforms her into a cloud so that she can be free from torment — a bittersweet reminder that love does not always play out as we might expect it to.

*“Savanna Desire – The Prey”* is a powerful Afro Techno House track that channels the primal energy of desire and the hunt. Female vocals tell, in a lyrical and abstract tone, of the warrior whose wildness dissolves when he meets her gaze. The soundscape is driven by deep heartbeat-like drums and tribal percussion (djembe, talking drum, conga), enhanced with passionate vocal mantras and whispering background layers. The lyrics embody longing, predation, and possession – expressed through the evocative force of the female voice.

As one of South Africa’s foremost musicians and pioneer flute players, Wouter Kellerman has achieved a number of notable career milestones for his flute songs, flute music and flute covers of popular songs. He is known for composing beautiful and relaxing music, as well as meditation music. Included in his list of many awards and nominations is a prestigious Grammy® Award, multiple South African Music Awards (SAMA) and the Global Peace Song Award for a solo flute piece for Nelson Mandela called “The Long Road”.
