JJ The Kid was born on the Southside of Chicago, and raised in the South suburs of the city. He has been making beats since he was eight years old (studying piano and guitar). At thirteen he bought his first keyboard and with the help and encouragement from a neighbor in the business (THANKS CIII) he mastered his skills on FL Studio, Reasons, and studied Sonar6 at Prairie State Community College's Music Production and Technology program.
