'Focus' is the second single out on my label 'Point of You.' 'Focus' is a liquid DnB inspired roller I made in 2022 from the perspective of the ones I hold dearest to me. This was on the tail end of creative burnout.

DJ Swagger can’t ever stop. After his first album on Kommerz Records, “Chemistry Forever”, he extends the whole story into “Chemistry Foreverever” (September 9th, 2024) and presents us the first single “Best Friends”.
 The bittersweet love ballad is a post-dubstep banger with heavy jazz influence referencing early works of James Blake and Nicolas Jaar. DJ Swagger orchestrates his frail singing with an absorbing production that combines passages of jazz piano and upright bass (the latter played by himself) with wobbly bass lines and spacious synth line.		
Hailing from West Germany’s Bielefeld, DJ Swagger is pretty much the archetype of a so-called Wunderkind. At his young age of 25 the producer, DJ, multi instrumentalist and songwriter released more than 40 vinyl records including two solo albums and endless rave tracks since turning 16. While on “Chemistry Forever” DJ Swagger’s creative agenda ventured more and more into classic songwriting and taking over the role of lead vocalist of his one-man-band, we find him now in a world just in between. On “Chemistry Foreverever” he focuses more on instrumental pieces and sets some vocal highlights to guide through the record. 
One of them being the lead single “Best Friends”. Out everywhere September 20th.

Over the last month, the music and events industry has entered unchartered territory due to the Covid-19 lockdown, and artists and online media have found themselves in a financially vulnerable position with much more time on their hands. 

To help some of those artists, Ransom Note reached out to some friends of the website with the challenge to make a track in collaboration with another producer, musician or vocalist, remotely, in 10 days. The result is ‘Pen Pals’: a compilation featuring 15 collaborations from 32 artists. We feature Graded artists Tom VR & Otik's contribution titled 'Poly Echo 97'.
