Joan Adler talks about so-called Crisis Pregnancy Centers, which give the appearance of giving pregnant women choices, while actively trying to dissuade them from having an abortion. These centers are funded by religious organizations, and are not medically licensed.  It is not clear how many volunteers have medical background. New York's Attorney General Letitia James has sued several of these organizations for promoting scientifically unproven treatments.

Peter Odida talks about the work he does in Uganda and South Sudan as a teacher, educator, and program coordinator for eight schools. He reflects on the challenges of teaching students not only theoretical skills but also practical skills, particularly in the areas of self-sufficiency and climate action. While Uganda revised its curriculum in 2019 to incorporate more skills-based teaching, many teachers lack sufficient education, and the implementation needs improvement. 

Ithaca, New York based Words Into Deeds, Inc. has expanded Gender Equity and WASH Youth Empowerment projects into eight rural and Gulu city schools. These projects are training 240 youth leaders and their teachers in the hand stitching production of reusable feminine hygiene kits and hand made liquid soap. We discuss the third Reproductive Rights Film Festival, which will take place in Ithaca, New York, from September 9 to 20, 2025. Filmmaker Cayenne Cave and former health care counselor Joan Adler were on the film selection committee. Filmmaker Sue Perlgut is the founder of "Close to Home Productions" and is on the board of Cinemapolis, where the films will be screened. All are active in the organization End Abortion Stigma. The festival features two webinars and five days of film screenings, followed by Q&A sessions and discussions. All films are free and open to the public.

Ira Helfand talks about the increasing threat of nuclear weapons and the efforts to prevent nuclear war. Since the arms race during the Cold War the super powers came very close to launching nuclear weapons on numerous occasions. Since the end of the Cold War many people have gotten complacent about the threat. However, efforts to educate and mobilize the public seem to be gaining momentum since the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons was adopted by the United Nations in 2017. The "Back from the Brink" campaign has spearheaded a resolution urging the United States to take leadership in getting the other nuclear powers to disarm. It has been passed in more than 70 cities, which more than 480 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and faith-based groups have adopted. Resolutions have also been introduced to Congress (H.Res 317 and S.Res 323).

Ira Helfand has leadership roles in the following organizations: Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR.org), the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICANW.org) and Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), which won the Nobel Peace Prize. Georgina Catacora talks about her work in agro-ecology and participatory action research. Her research focuses on interrelated aspects of food production, including ecology, biodiversity, sociological systems, food systems, policy making, gender, and non-binary people. In particular she has worked with small-scale farmers in Latin America. She is a professor, researcher, and fulbright scholar, currently teaching at Ithaca College.
