Lake Beresford is a collection of field recordings taken at the titular lake in Deland, FL and its surrounding area. Recordings are arranged to represent the soundscape of the lake throughout the course of a typical day. From the sounds of the Stetson University Rowing teams before daybreak, to the sounds of frogs and cicadas as night falls, each is part of the lake’s complex and unique acoustic signature. Throughout this piece, the relationship between humans and the natural world is explored, and the interactions of people and their environment are showcased in the context of Lake Beresford.

**Disquiet Junto Project 0428: Urban Moss**
*Step 1: Consider how many concert posters have spent time on an old telephone pole before being torn down or succumbing to the elements. Think about the wear on the wood, the rust on the vestigial staples, as time has passed.
*Step 2: Record a short piece of music that pays tribute to the accumulated echoes of past concerts promoted here over the years.*

After both my parents died a couple of years ago I had to let go many things, most notably the family house and the bedroom where I lived my first 22 years. It was a thrill to go back to that room to say farewell, the walls were covered with posters, stickers, etc. There were a lot of concert posters glued to the wall that my parents just kept there, along with many concert ticket that I glued over. I wish I could have keep that wall! Filled with memories, there was even a Miles Davis street poster (huge) for a concert in the early 90s that never happened (Miles got ill, cancelled and died)

Then I had to let go my old piano, a century old German beast, with crackles, noises , real ivory and ebony keys and “that sound”...

I recorded a lot on it when I was living there but even in the recent years , when visiting my parents, (although I have a modern piano in my studio) I liked to bring a stereo microphone and do some recording that, when listened 10 thousand kilometres away, instantly bring me back to that piano, that room, and the past.

In this track I worked on a solo piano track I found on an old DAT, recorded at my parents’ house 15 years ago, added some hi pitched notes for the same session/DAT, then I created a pulsating synth arpeggiator and a deep bass, with a lot of subliminal blemishes like noises and interference in the background.

Disquiet Junto Project 0455: Inner Invertebrate
The Assignment: What does a moment (or a day) in the life of a jellyfish sound like to a jellyfish?

I hate to be lazy and use something I was working on instead of something new sparked by the actual challenge, but sometimes time is our tyrant and I was fascinated by this forgotten masters, some live-in-the-studio improvisations with awesome French drummer André Charlier that I discovered some days ago.
Captured while we were warming up for a recording session years ago. This was on tape but never used nor listened to, and I've been taking some nice bits out of it for further use. These are all ad-lib, abstract and weird soundscapes, no groovy bass 'n drums at all.
This is an abstract, floating groove-less & creepy track.

And I think it fits the challenge perfectly cause, o be honest:

- Invertebrate folks listen to beat-less music, I'm pretty sure. 
- Jelly fish are creepy little  beings.

invertebrate duet improvisation (disquiet0455)

This one (as the track I posted just yesterday [here](https://soundcloud.com/daniel-diaz/vidala-del-grand-canyon)) are part of a series of documentary music from 2006-2007 that  I got the rights back.

Now I'm in the process of re-thinking, remixing and recycling, giving a new life to these forgotten instrumentals.

Yesterday track was "Jujuy meet Arizona", this one is pure LA PUNA, an average 3500 meters height desert/plateau where this kind of simple, powerful folk melodies resonate from the distance.

The Assignment: Show how you got to a tortured sound.

Step 1: Through some multi-step process, arrive at a complicated, tortured sound. Keep track of how you got there.

Step 2: Record a piece beginning with the end result: that complicated, tortured sound. Then transition to the start of the process and build back up to the end result, slowly repeating how you got you there.

I created a very slow nice and tame, sequence with several arpeggiators playing complementary riffs in C minor. 

To produce the tortured sound I just accelerated the master 6X.

I respected the instructions, so it is in mirror:
