WUMP decided to keep it funky this Friday with some electronic jazz infused with saxophone and electric guitar, courtesy of Metasine (pronounced "medicine"). A firm believer that music has a profound impact on the human psyche, Metasine, a.k.a. Connor Jay Proctor, aims to expand one's mind through stimulating auditory sensory receptors.  He spends his time in the dark back corners of used record stores, searching for the oldest, dustiest vinyls to sample for his songs, adding a sense of adventure to this music-making process.


This song, entitled "Life Line", showcases his ability to capture the essence and mood of the records he samples, while not relying on them entirely.  This song is particularly special because it features some funky guitar riffs from his cousin, Proc, with whom Connor has been collaborating quite a bit recently.  


"Life Line" establishes the mood right away, with the classic crackling of vinyl and some bluesy rhythm guitar. As the track progresses, it continues to add more elements that all work perfectly together in harmonious cohesion.  The catchy saxophone melody will undoubtedly get you moving, and those menacing basslines give the tune an extra bit of attitude that may make your face get small at times.  Topping it off with some grainy, weathered vocal samples from a dusty old record, Metasine really nailed this song, and we are extremely excited to share it with you all.


This is a little preview of Metasine's upcoming "Collateral Consciousness" album, so stay tuned for future updates.
