Vreschen is an artist who produces music primarily on Ableton and Korg Gadget, though occasionally works on other software. The genre of his work focuses almost entirely on electronic music, but the subgenres vary with each song. Output between songs is anywhere from a couple of days to two months, though this has become more sporadic as years progress. He hopes that people enjoy his music and are inspired by what he creates.

Just like French toast, where you make old bread delicious again by frying it into eggnog and sugar, Pain Perdu cooks up sweet and crunchy tunes out of the guts of old Nintendo GameBoys.

Unless specified otherwise, the majority of the music Pain Perdu produces and puts out is recorded straight off of one Nintendo Gameboy, running the wonderful tracker program LSDJ.

Our thanks go to the Chiptune community who keeps giving us inspiration and constantly raises the bar higher. Special mention to the people who allow this community to bud and bloom in our home country of France.

i make music

i first used openmpt in '08 when i wanted to try and modify the jj2 soundtrack, and i've been tracking ever since. from there i progressed into more modern ways of music production (ableton + hardware synths) but i still make modules as a side project.

i also run a discord server all about tracker music production, and we do a weekly three-hour compo in there which i often post my tracks from as well (link to the server below if you're interested).
