The voyage “Towards the Sun” is one of our favorite journeys, and we are happy to go there
any chance we get. Well, we’re in for a treat. All eyes on the horizon as we welcome two
remixes of Francesco Chiocchi and Black Soda’s ode to the earth’s brightest star, delivered by
some of our favorite producers. Italy’s Pastaboys are first up with their seductive remix of the
original, paving the way Towards the Sun through the night. We often forget it’s pitch dark
before the sun rises, but with racy bass and body-binding rhythm, this remix leaves us aroused,
electrified by the retro sultriness of the afterhours. The trio behind the iconic ‘Deep Musique’
with Osunlade, knows the essence of soul and the depth of the future all too well, and we feel
that here, with subtle Italo nuances.
Up next, Multinotes co-label heads, Musumeci and Lehar prove their sublime studio chemistry
yet again, illuminating a trajectory Towards the Sun beyond the earth’s atmosphere. Emitting
Black Soda’s commanding vocals in celestial plagency, the Italian duo traverse the chasms of
the galaxy in a passage to cosmic euphoria. Driving moist orbicular riffs and poignant chords on
a propulsive locomotive groove, this reinterpretation is a nyctophile’s anthem. The perfect
post-peak time joyride to nocturnal bliss.

Fresh off a busy summer yet again spent casting memorable hoodoo spells upon the ravers, Hive Audio rounds off the festival season with their new compilation "Summer Slices 2022". Geared up with a choice allotment of solar grooves and deftly surgical machine funk, this round proves particularly heady and deep if anything. 

A string of mercurial slabs, perfect to transition smoothly from the sunny days into fall's hybrid ambiences, starting with Matija & Richard Elcox "Land of Zilla" - a moody, low-slung number to kick things off proper, with its ambiguously hazy atmosphere and nimble swing leading the parade. Felipe Puertes' infectious multi-strain mashup "Everything of Life" worms its way in-limbo jagged Latin house reliefs, Chicagoan soulfulness and a tang of Afro-futuristic programming. 

Swiss duo Smalltown Collective contribute a total jacking piece of arsenal with the steadily soaring "Amira", which mixes elements of Arabic folk grammar with a liquid-like, bass-powered bounce and seesawing synths from outer space. On the fractals-unfolding "Hexagon", Chris Sen & Guy Herman pull out a fine slice of verbed-out Tech House skirting on cinematic cliff-hanging, whereas Trees of Tampa shift the scope onto cosmic-indebted, space opera-friendly ambition with the enslavingly hypnotic "Sorcerer".

Flexing muscles all the way, TSCHAN's "Gosar" taps both in the classic hardcore sound, tribal techno and sino-flavoured harmonics to weave its own Frankensteinian monster of big-room effusiveness. "Under The Table" by Roman Blum belongs to a more straightforward genotype of early house laced with hints of garage and post-French touch pop-ish fun, while SOAME's "Heat" provides exactly what's written on the tin: no-nonsense onslaughts of smouldering hi-hats, dubbed-out vox stabs and buzzing synths processed to optimal floor-obliterating effect. The titles reflecting a journey that took him to musical places unimagined in his studio beforehand. Emotionally charged 'The bridge' features spacious zitar lines and emotive strings that send you upward while the rough and ready groove keeps your feet on the ground. "In my dream' sprinkles a lighter more airy atmosphere over the dance floor drawing the listener in to it's hypnotic spell.

An Argentinian who’s musical forte has been bred in Berlin, Alejandro Mosso has been at the cutting edge of electronic music for more than 15 years. Through challenging the understanding of what dance music could be, Mosso sits at the intersection of deep house, minimal techno, tribal, and melodic dance music. 

Alejandro’s ability to traverse genre lines makes him a pillar of XYZ’s artistic vision. With releases on industry titans such as Cocoon, Third Ear, and Hivern Discs propelling his career, Mosso has recently found footing in the deep and melodic scene.
