Autumn is the season in which the ebbing heat of summer burns out in a beautiful blaze of auburn and gold, and the cooler winds of change bring with them a sense of renewal and restoration. After the energy of the past months, it is an opportunity to slow down and appreciate the beauty of change and the passing of time. This time brings with it a return to the warmth and intimacy of dancing in dark rooms, shoulder-to-shoulder with family and strangers alike.

As the darkness creeps back, the glow of the love shared behind closed doors grows once again, in an eternal fight to keep the flame alive through the sparser times.

This autumn, we’ve brought together new compositions from brilliant musicians all around the globe, including Karkala, India, and Reykjavik, Iceland, for the fourth instalment of our Seasons series.

Each artist brings something unique to the project, delivering heartfelt stories that are as touching as they are driving and danceable. Across the 10 tracks on this new project, prepare to be taken on a powerful emotional tour of the world, guided by some of the most exciting artists making music today.

Emotional Tourist has cemented himself as a pillar of XYZ’s artistic direction over the last two years. The Romanian first caught the ear via an rhythmically groovy remix of DSF, and last year’s The Day The World Meets You showcased the Emotional Tourist sound in its finest forms.

Oppo gives full creative control to the producer, who essentially functions as the label head on the project. Curating sounds from artists around the world who've influenced his journey thus far, as well as a pristine production of his own, Emotional Tourist presents a project that fully represents his tastes as an artist.

XYZ faithful are well aware of Mitch Oliver’s knack for ominous and punchy productions by now. The Montrealer has thoroughly impressed over the last year, which began with his Alleghanys took the world by storm. He’s back in the depths of winter to provide further sound solace. Azure keeps minds moving with meandering synths and an ever present kick, igniting any dance floor in need of a spark.

We’ve enlisted a top-tier roster of remixers to take the reins on the original material, and these three maestros have absolutely nailed it! Raw Main, Maxi Degrassi, and Facundo Mohrr come together to present Exil (The Remixes).

Raw Main is one of the most forward-thinking producers in our global community of musicians. With projects everflowing on the likes of Abracadabra, Saisons, and Bar25, he’s got a distinct knack for balancing the foreign and familiar. The Frenchman has flipped Intrepid on its head, enlisting a heady acid-laced groove drenched in psychedelia. A touch of vocal bliss alongside organic riffs counter the synthetic foundation, placing this instant classic in a world of its own.

We’re thrilled to welcome back Maxi Degrassi on remix duty, as he steps into the driver’s seat on Wildfire. The Argentinian aficionado peruses through punchy percussion and haunting hooks, keeping the groove-centric vibe alive from start to finish. Lush builds add flavor at every turn, ensuring this dancefloor burner catches the ear of the globe’s finest selectors; a tantalizing tool!

Harnessing inspiration from a rejuvenating weekend of shows in NYC, Facundo Mohrr captures a perfect Sunday flow with his remix of Exil. Playful synths snap into focus on top of punchy kicks, as the vocal performance from Tea Verdene receives a trippy twist. Facundo produces yet another unpredictable groover that has become the signature of his sound, balancing immense dancefloor effect with bespoke melodic character.

Montrealer @mitch_oliver returns to Kindisch with a pair of hypnotic house rollers.

Mitch Oliver is at the heart of the ever-evolving melodic movement. The rising star is a DJ, producer and sound engineer respected for his blend of emotive grooves on the likes of Akbal Music, Seven
Villas, When We Dip XYZ and Hoomidaas Records. He has previously released two singles on this label and now returns with his first full EP for the Berlin imprint. His deft touch in the studio and finely curated DJ sets have taken him across Canada, the US, and the Caribbean with performances at renowned events such as AIM Festival, Burning Man and SXM Festival. At home in Montreal, he runs his own Aurora events as a residency at Velvet and he was part of Guy Laliberté’s PY1 Nights.

Mitch opens up with vocalist MYRE for 'Alpine', a richly detailed track with subtle acoustic guitar licks and buttery smooth vocals. The spacious, patient groove builds with deft percussive details that heighten the alluring atmosphere of this classy late night gem.

Second track 'Mylus' is a collaboration with musician @nicfalardeau. It is another brilliantly organic track with seductive wood-block hits over frictionless deep house drums. Serene string sounds, yawning chords and soft shakers all pepper the perfect groove as you slowly but surely fall under its majestic and romantic spell.

These are two tender house tracks stuffed with heartfelt warmth.
