New from Guy J’s exceptional imprint, Lost & Found comes two original tracks from Dutch wonder, Budakid due for release on January 26th.

Signed to Einmusika, All Day I Dream and Last Night On Earth among others has helped the plucky young Berlin- based Dutchman to ascend the heights of the Progressive scene in a matter of years. Self taught and influenced by everyone from Todd Terje to Caribou means that Budakid isn’t weighed down by certain musical conformities and is free to create delicate, flowing melodica that has gained the interest of well-known media outlets such as Deep House Amsterdam, FAZE magazine and Thump.

Leading the way is ‘Memories’, an elegantly paced deep progressive number sparse in percussion but packed full of emotive nuance. The ebb and flow of twinkly arps and warming pads transport the listener far away from their troubles over a blissful six and a half minutes.

Flip over and ‘On An Empty Page’ elicits a different emotional response; no less visceral, no less powerful. Growing from meandering pads and cold sonics, it warms over the course of the track as new motifs add subtle layers of emotion.

The brainchild of Damian Lazarus, Crosstown Rebels has become home to many big hitters. Following on from his remix of Satori earlier this year, Riva Starr delivers his own, three-part tribal beast, ADVENTURES   IN DRUMS.

“I’ve always had a crush on world music since my first EP War Drums   back in 2008,  so I decided to go back to that particular sound. I find   myself playing it more and more in the club these days. It definitely is an Adventure in Drums.” - Riva Starr

MY AFRIKA opens up the EP with what would appear to be a tribal leader commanding your attention as the wobbly synths draw you in. As the heady bass kicks in you can’t help but succumb to the rhythm. On EUROVOODOO , alien sounding synths are weaved amongst high hats luring you into a trance-like, hypnotic state. EL SONIDO leans towards a faster, flamenco style sound with tribal singing beckoning you to   the   dancefloor.

Riva Starr is the alias of East London based Stefano Miele. He has long been a staple in the club scene bringing dancefloor fire to some of the world’s biggest stages, from Glastonbury to Japan’s Fuji Rock. His credibility as an artist has led to collaborations with some of the industry’s biggest players, including the likes of Green Velvet, as well as remixing for a number of high-profile musicians such as Wiley and London Grammar. Founder of Snatch!, 2017 was a monumental year for the label having reached its 100th release.

Kiwi continues to delight and inspire as he returns to Futureboogie Recordings with his cinematically sprawling "Amityville" EP, including a remix by Life and Death head honcho DJ Tennis. On "Warriors", Kiwi embodies his unabashed love of cult movies with a musical ode that captures the edgy and urban sounds of 70s cinematic synth soundtracks; phasing guitar riffs, rolling snares and dramatic synth sweeps dominate this infectious track. Last on the EP is “Anesthesia” in collaboration with Sterioa. A shadowy cut with the building tension of an ominous bassline combined with a gentle melody. The contrasting moods fuse with the vocals' soothing textures to take the listener on a twisting journey of epic proportions.
