Berlin-based Argentinian artist Alejandro Mosso turns cadeu's latest single into a hypnotic slow burner.

Just as white lies is about subtleties, so is the new remix of cadeu’s single ‘don’t ask again” by Alejandro Mosso. Over the course of 10 minutes, Mosso skillfully builds tension, borrowing only a few elements from the original version. The remix opens with an unfinished line “whenever you remember to…”, which continues throughout the entire track like a spellbinding pendulum. Mosso cuts the line as if metaphorically hinting on the tacit nature of white lies, which is the main theme of the lyrics. Despite sharing the same bpm of cadeu’s single, this remix lands in a different mood and groove territories, almost balancing out the darker cathartic vibes of the original with slow paced yet inflammable verve.

Leading the release is Powel, a character familiar to XYZ aficionados following his incredible retouch of Hosini last year. The All Day I Dream and Dawn till Dusk regular has crafted his own space in the deep and melodic realm, utilizing an amazing breadth of production class. Similar to Esteble, his heady grooves remain immensely dance friendly, as the melodies and percussion connect in stunning fashion. The German has revisited the A-side Amazonica, thickening the drum riff and looping the playful synths for a melodic masterpiece with a club focus.

David Orin has been a key figure in New York’s surging deep and melodic scene, and is making his way onto the international radar through a series of productions dripping in quality. His amazing Antemeridian, the debut release for Kora’s label Saisons, turned many eyes and ears in Orin’s direction, including those of Esteble and the team at XYZ. Vanuatu provided Orin with the melodic canvas, as he’s added lighter tones and a lovely backbone to the original. It’s a perfect closer to a remix EP that harnesses the calming nature of the original work, while adding life and character, extending the journey of Amazonica.

XYZ is thrilled to present a new concept for a release. Producers are the backbone of a label; developing supportive and genuine relationships with our artists is the core principle of XYZ's development.

Our Oppo series is an ode to the figures that we feel are at the foundation of the label's journey thus far. Nobody fits this bill better than Hosini - the Swedish starlet has been with us since day one, presenting Flyga and the enigmatic Soul Search EP. His stunning sound has been the basis of our exploration into deep and melodic forms, setting the standard for XYZ from the get-go.

Oppo gives full creative control to the producer, who essentially functions as the label head for this premiere release. Curating sounds from artists around the world who've influenced his career thus far, as well as a production of his own, Hosini presents a project that fully represents his tastes as an artist.

Esteble have built a trustful relationship with Hosini, as is evident on their collaborative Hypna EP on Do Not Sit. The Dutch duo extends Oppo with ‘Cloudbreaker’. A bassy underbelly sets the stage for an ominous affair, asserting energetic melodies.
